You are not wrong in regards to the operating costs. I still consume local TV on Over the Air rabbit ears. It's free and quick. Much like FM Radio in the car. I know I can get it via streaming or an App, but for a quick weather hit or literally coming home and hitting a button to quickly get information on my flatscreen TV.

However, with home internet access pushing 95%, I think you are right with local stations essentially turning to streaming exclusively in the future, and advertisers will love all the metrics that come with it.

Their new morning setup feels so forced. Jed is now the traffic guy. Swope now gives the weather every 7 minutes. Guy named Colby who took Storme’s place looks very uncomfortable and Marsh continues with her annoying laugh.

Still lots of room for improvement but already 110% better than the old morning cackle fest.

I noticed that Mecca Rayne is no longer listed as a KOCO news team member. I am curious if there was a public announcement of her departure?

Yes. On air and social media. I think she’s getting out of the news industry.

That is correct. I asked a friend who works at KOCO and he told me she wanted to spend more time raising her kids. Bravo to her but I will miss her newscasts.

In my opinion KFOR has went from one of the best news channels to the worse news channel in the okc market since nexstar bought them out. Also as for Mike Morgan. Anyone know who his replacement may be i know he is nearing retirement age (nothing confirmed on him leaving just curious)
I think Emily from KFOR or Lacey from KWTV might be some good guesses for his replacement.

Mike Morgan is 60, so it's 6 more years before he can retire at full retirement age and longer than that if he still loves doing the weather. But if he is sick and tired of doing the weather he can retire in just 2 years at 62.

The noon news on KFOR is awful. It's just a rehash of the previous day's news. It's better to watch the noon time news on KWTV-9 for updated news.

Yes, but KFOR has Mr. Food

Wow, only 60. I feel like he has been doing weather for forever in Oklahoma. He joined KFOR in 1993, was at KOCO before that for a few years (along side Jon Slater), which means he was about 16 or 17 when he was at KJRH in Tulsa?

If you follow his social media, his family is heavily invested into OKC, his wife is a ER Nurse, his son is the band director at Edmond Memorial.

I imagine he can stay at KFOR for at least another 10 years if he wanted. I imagine Emily would be his replacement, she has been at KFOR for 15 years.
