Prunepicker, did you know a guy by the name of Bobby Christie? He had atleast one sister I remember by the name of Jan (Yowza), she was purty. They lived on Miller just south of the school for awhile, then they moved over to 63rd just west of Villa.

The favorite game was "we won't stop" . Tether ball was great, four
    square, soft ball.

I forgot all about Mrs. Harlin....and yes it was Webb a solid gray headed man.

And yes tether ball ruled when I was there....and at the far west end of the playground was a large shrub...that was where you took your girlfriend to get a kiss......haha

Yes! Bobby and Lee. I didn't know the sister. We're about the same age and,
    duh, played baseball together.

It was a nice familiy place where you could get burgers and sandwiches, and I was heartbroken as a kid when it burned down under mysterious circumstances....
Speaking of red phones who remembers Across the Street restuarant?

I don't know if we really knew the rules but the way we played it was fun.

I don't remember the rules either. I only remember you played it on a square marked on the ground.

If I'm not mistaken. I remember ordering by phone. Then waiting on a return call notifying me that my order was ready. Spaghetti Red was our dish of choice.

There was a Sirloin Stockade where Walgreen's (CVS) is located now. Across the street from the old Country Club Drive-Inn. Then a Chinese joint.

In the Almonte Shopping Center. The food was pretty good.

There was one on the north side off of 39th Expressway a block or two west of
May. It became a biker gang bar. I believe the Outlaws hung out there.
