there are ways to manage that without adding a statute of a big that ruins spacing/their offense when on the floor. They will not add someone like Steven Adams.

I'm not a fan of bringing Steven Adams back.

Exactly, we have people who can score. Scoring was never our problem. Between SGA, JDubb, Chet, we can get buckets. Problem is we couldn't grab a rebound when we needed it most. Which changed the landscape of that series.

Steven Adams number for last season, I will take that:
    PTS
    8.6
    REB
    11.5
    AST
    2.3
    FG%
    59.7

Not sure why they have the OKC skyline as the background image for the podium? lol. I guess TNT really thought OKC was going to make it to the WCF....WOW!

Season before last. He didn't play at all last season. A knee injury on a guy that size could be a concern.

Changing the entire offensive/defensive systems—when both were top 5 in the NBA—to bring in an aging injury-prone player (it's not even clear Steven Adams will ever be healthy again) does not seem like a great idea.

I am not sure what route Presti will go to address the issues of the playoffs, but I don't think it's going to be as simple as bring-in-strongest-man-to-rebound solution. He's going to want to find players who fit what OKC is doing. I suspect that may mean a versatile 4 who is a solid rebounder, but it could also include an upgrade on the break-in-emergencies big men (Biyombo, Muscala) we had on the end of the bench last season.

Doubt if Presti will be so quick to give up any key roster pieces. These guys are young and don't have a lot of experience--give them time to mesh.

Let's see who Presti adds with the #12 pick in the 2024 draft.

Listen to down to dunk or the Thunder uncontested on episodes where they discuss potential offseason moves. If you do that and can’t understand why they are unlikely to sign Steven Adams or anyone similar, then I don’t know what to tell you. He isn’t the type of player they would add and wouldn’t fit their offensive philosophy

With how much Dallas is crushing it - it is so much more painful to know we almost pushed it to G7 even with the majority of our guys shooting cold.

This OKC team is going to be serious next season.

Got to be a total disappointment for Minnesota; they had the height and length to compete with the Mavs--they lost all of their 3 home games ending their season losing 124 - 103. Dallas advances to NBA finals beating Minnesota 4 - 1.

Giddey for Kuzma Trade Rumors ESCALATING...

    Kyle Kuzma profile: Age: 28 - Height 6'9" - Weight 221 lbs, PPG 22.2 - RPG 6.6 - LYC $25,568,182
    Josh Giddey - $6,587,040

"rumors escalating" is a funny phrase that has no connection to reality. If OKC traded with Washington, I'd think Deni Avdija is a more likely target than Kyle Kuzma.

Yeah we’re about to have a summer of clueless people suggesting really stupid trades on the internet.

    We are so back.

This is simultaneously one of my favorite and most hated parts of the year: when everyone who played rec ball is certain they know NBA player strategy better than Sam Presti.

Part of being a fan is speculating about what moves the teams will make. It’s fun. I just try to differentiate between informed speculation and uninformed clickbait.

Everyone knows Markkanen would be a great fit for the Thunder, but Ainge is going to demand a massive amount in response. He always does, which will likely make the price too high.

Agree. But I think it is all uninformed clickbait. “Some are saying”, “Rumors are rising”, “From those in the know”.

I read today that “NBA insiders are saying Russel Westbrook could opt out of his Clippers contract and go where he gets more minutes”. That is mindless clickbait

I am separating that type of content from informed writers/podcasters, for example, discussing which players make sense based on the Thunder's organizational goals and approaches.
