They posted tomorrow is their last day. This will probably hurt GoodTimes as well. That area is just off the beaten path right now.
I was worried the Fry closing would hurt Good Times but surprisingly they've been very busy all spring. I'm not sure when they reopened but it was still pretty cold outside. Now that people are going to indoor bars again that may hurt Good Times a little since the patio is a big draw.
IMO the fry just didn't wait long enough. I get that they maybe couldn't. Just saying if you had the ability to hold on probably you're setting records now.
They're working on this building today. Couldn't tell if they're just taking out the restaurant/bar equipment for sale or doing something more.
Just traded texts with the owner of the building; he had been marketing the setup hoping to find a new operator.
And he did. A few local area bartenders are combining forces to reopen with a new name.
The space is very small so there isn't much you can really do but operate a small bar.
Maybe they'll call it Friar Drunk's.
I was enjoying the live music at the Fry before the Pandemic.
Announced on Instagram. Dive bar called Zuma.

Zuma has pretty much kept the Drunken Fry's vibe, though they've cleaned the place up so that it's not as dive-y as it was. So far seems to be a chill neighborhood place that plays well off Good Times across the street.
