Following a lengthy wait, Laredo’s could open soon
BY STEVE LACKMEYER

Julian Gonzalez is a bit gun-shy about committing to an opening for his family’s Laredo’s Mexican Restaurant, even though he celebrated receiving an occupancy permit from the city this week.
Aug 19 Laredo's Mexican Restaurant at Belle Isle in NW OKC is opening soon after 4 years of construction.
Hopefully, he says, it will be open next month. Maybe sometime in September, customers will get to see for themselves the restaurant at 5111 N Classen Blvd. that took four years to build.

Love the headline. If that doesn't say it, I'm not sure what would.
Seriously, though. The interior sounds very cool. I don't mind waiting another month or so.
Warren, just once more I'd like to say thanks for how you're posting these stories. I really appreciate it.
very pretty interior. Steve, tell your cam folks they done good!
Again, I hope the food doesn't change too much.
There were a lot more cool photos. I know it's not downtown, but would anyone mind if I post them at OKC Central anyway?
so long as you don't do a whole series on coffee haus chairs, i don't see me rising in protest to your content decisions
8^)
Don't change the freaking food.
Anyone been by this week? Have they started the soft opening yet?
just saw on craigs list that they are hiring......soon my friends it will be open!
It is owned by the same people that own Pepe's in Edmond. The food is basically about the same.
News?
Haven't heard otherwise, so I think we may still be in 'soon" mode.
Laredo's is open! It's gorgeous inside!
Hooray! Can we close this thread and start a new one titled "Laredo's Finally Open"
How's the food? Is it the same?
Um...I'm going to go out on a limb and answer the original poster's question...yes, I think it will open.
Bold, brave, innovative ... maybe Steve can help arrange a new film at 11
