Caruso has never been a liability on offense and he's currently shooting substantially worse than ever in his career. Almost unsustainably bad.

Yea just a little bit off an off night, Nuggets played well credit to them. Caruso is shooting 14% from 3 and under 24% entirely from the field this year. This will almost certainly revert closer to his typical averages as the season goes on. Last night was just a really bad night.

Hopefully the Thunder trading for a 3&D curse didn't hit him. The straight up trade for Giddy was still a + since he plays substantially better D, but it is still baffling how he is missing easy layups and every single WIDE open 3.

The Singler curse is when the Thunder pick up a white guy and his shooting percentages plummet. Is Caruso the latest victim? lol

The good thing about Caruso is that he does so many good things on the court that he can still be a positive when shooting poorly. It's encouraging that the Nuggets played so well and, seemingly, OKC played poorly in a lot of areas (Shai was really sloppy with the ball, Caruso couldn't shoot, Dort couldn't finish the layup late) and still almost won. Even the loss was king of encouraging.

I'll give Caruso a pass on everything right now just for the simple fact that on defense he is not playing his natural position. Until the Williams come back and Hartenstein we are asking him to guard the other teams 5 at times. He did do some nice things at the end of the game. Good cut for layup, got the rebound with 13 seconds left. I think he is trying so hard on defense that it's effecting his offense some. At least that is what I hope.

Caruso guarded bigs in Chicago too. And he's always tried hard on defense. That's why he's elite and often injured. So I don't think any of this is that new for him. He's just going through an offensive slump.

Did he talk about this a couple games ago on how he wasn't used to guarding the 5 spot. I think he brought it up. I sure he did in Chicago sum but not as much as we are asking him too do so far this year. Found it. https://x.com/SK_Hoops/status/1853845032178274691 Small ball 5 he is having to do some adjusting.

Yeah, that's probably right. He guarded guys like Giannis, but maybe not guys like Jokic. But Chet was the primary defender on Jokic most of the night.

My greatest fear was the Rockets (Height/Length) would put us on a losing streak.

Unfortunately, during the 2nd quarter, I left to pick up more snacks (Didn't have the radio tuned in while driving); upon my return, the Thunder had the Rockets on the ropes--preparing them like prime beef brisket strung up in the Smokehouse in the 3rd quarter and feasted upon in the 4th. Nice to see Steven Adams, a good gauge for Chet.

Give it up to Coach Mark Daigneault; he has our Thunder on a mission.

Good Crowd last night better than last year too start the season. Still not what I would call full. 10-20 empty seats in each section in Loud city manly behind the baskets. I check 30 minutes before tip tickets down to about $15 or less even with the fees. I would think Sunday game will be playoff full.

    Chets post:

Can’t tell if I feel better or worse about this having been through something similar before. On one hand I know how to approach it, I know what to do, what not to do and how beautiful the other side is. But on the other hand I’ve felt the frustration of this process, and the wear it puts on your mind. Most of all I’m hurt I can’t help my teammates and play for our fans and supporters for a while. Everyone who sticks with me and our team, along with my need for hoops, is a big part of my passion to return. Don’t pity me or feel bad, there’s lots of people out there rn with real problems that don’t heal. Anyways excuse my rambling just wanted to address our okc fans and family

Amazing comeback last night considering GSW thrives when they don't have to play a center like Chet.

Really hope IHart and JWill are ready here in a few weeks. This could be a brutal end of year stretch. It is wild that we won't see this team at full potential until deep into January now.

Sucks really bad obviously but I’m glad it wasn’t related to his joint. That would have been a catastrophic injury.

I dont think he comes back at all this season. Going to play some small ball 2018 Rockets style until iHart gets back in December. Going to be tough.

    Tough beginning of the season.

Holmgren's injury isn't very surprising. He's slender. The man could almost walk through a door without opening it.

It's good that half the NBA makes the playoffs. The Thunder just need to finish the last half of the season strong.

Disagree based on literally everything being said about the injury. It’s non weight bearing so it isn’t near as serious as something joint related. I doubt he’s back in game shape in the 8-10 week timeline being thrown out there right now but seeing him back in late February or March isn’t at all unrealistic. Need hartenstien, J will and kenrich back badly in the mean time.
