Looks like the contractor is done with prep work and construction has started on the pedestrian bridge.
^ Thanks for the update.
I'll try and get out there this week for new photos.
Looks great! Will be a great destination for local and out of state visitors. Hopefully, the proposed aquarium will get built and come to fruition!
Should be interesting to see them attach all those boxes together to make a floating temp bridge for the cranes.

Noticed they already have a caisson in the middle of the river!

That's a cute little tug boat.
That’s Sandra K lol
This place is going to be awesome. I hope it plays a role in the upcoming Olympics.
And when the aquarium is built it will really add to what is being built now.
Any chance in the future the rip rap on both river banks gets replaced with sheet piles or concrete? It would look so much better with something like this:
Then the pathways could come right up the water's edge with railings.
In most of the early proposal stage they released art of they have upgrades to the edge of the river, it seems like there was some intent to do that, so it is plausible could come back around later. Granted there have been dramatic changes on what that would be done with the edge over time, and almost any time we got design changes shown in art less would be done with the water's edge. With some of the more recent engineering drawings look like the rip-rap will still be there.
Basically the late era of pre construction concept art with edge improvement still included. (I omitted the initial since seemed really unlikely to happen)
Some of more recent concept art from what seem to be an approval stage update, with it looking to at best refreshing the rip-rap

You can see the sheet piles in Pete's pictures above. We just don't know if they are going all the way across.
