Classes Curve is filling the void OKC has long had not having a centrally-located outdoor lifestyle center like Utica Square. Utica Square benefits from its age developing 70 years ago in the heart of midtown Tulsa and surrounded by high income neighborhoods. Its age also means it has mature trees and more development in general around it which is something Classen Curve lacks but will have in time.

Apparently Fossil has closed? Signs were down the other week and windows were covered.

That is a shame --- now I won't have anywhere to repair my Fossil watch !!!

Interesting new place coming to the food court.

Oh!K-Dog specializes in Korean fried rice hotdogs and egg toast, popular Korean street food items.

People in other towns rave about them.

At least it will be something completely new and different.

Any known plans for that Charley's Philly Cheesesteak place to close? The Walmart right next door has a sign up on the old McDonald's spot about a Charley's coming soon. (IMO a terrible change since it removes the ability to get some quick McDonald's breakfast along with an early morning shopping trip, but that's a completely separate issue.)

Nice, about time they start expanding. I like Charley's, but hate that I can only get it if I go to the mall. Hopefully they start building free standing locations around the metro.

Looks like a good get, especially in a mall.

Good to see something going in those old McDonalds spots.

I was just thinking when I had a summer job at Montgomery Wards at Penn Square Mall in 1977.

It certainly has changed over the years.

wasn't the mall still open-air in '77? would love to know what it looked like back then.

Um, does no one else see the resemblance with the shade things on the 4th/Cornett St Experience?

Man, I do. Almost posted images of them last night but decided to fall asleep in front of the TV instead. The resemblance is uncanny.

I didn’t live in OKC before PSM was remodeled and enclosed, so I’m not sure I’d ever seen those. But I recall my dad and especially my then step-mom (both R.I.P) talking about those shade structures specifically. I recall her especially mentioning how nice the environment was at PSM back then. She liked the enclosed mall too, but always seemed a bit wistful for the old one.

I don't have many memories of being at the mall when it was open air, but I definitely remember the cool sign on the corner, reminds me of the old French Market Mall sign, too.

It is a great sign. Wonder what happened to it? Could it be in someone's back 40 or old barn rusting away?

I can not remember where I read it but I remembered that they decided to destroy the sign since they do not have any use for it anymore, it is really a shame

The clock was purchased by the late Jim Brewer and was placed on top of the water tower at 2 E. California (Bricktown Canal). It was removed several years ago. Not sure of the disposition.
