Do we really know that Harden leaving was due to inability to pay the luxury tax? It might have been unwillingness to pay it. It might be that Presti got tired of negotiating with Harden's agent and lost a game of chicken. It might be there were Harden antics we know nothing about and will never know about unless Presti decides to write his memoirs. We're all doing nothing but speculating. I don't think we have any evidence that some stars are unwilling to play here, but regardless, we've got two of the biggest stars in the game who seem pretty happy playing here. Given stars egos, I'm not sure we have room for another.
