5 Guys is now open. we stopped in for dinner last night. The place was busy and the packed with employees. The food was good, like every other 5 Guys we’ve been to. The service was great too. No complaints there at all.
We had just a couple of complaints. First it was just too loud. The music was just blaring. The place was pretty crowded which really made it noisy. Not a problem. The employees were yelling and cheering which was fine too but they had the music volume turned up so loud that when it all combined it made the whole experience unpleasant. Our other complaint was the cooking odor. I don’t know if the exhaust system wasn’t working well or what, but it seemed a little smokey when we walked in and you could see all the grease\steam coming off the grills and fryers. We walked out stinking of burgers and fries. We’ve never experienced that at a 5Guys before. Hubby says it will be a while before he’ will be willing to go back.
Well, if 5 Guys is open Torchy's should be soon!
I noticed today that the sign is up for the salad place (Salata?) and a a sign in the window nextdoor for Cowboy Chicken.
Saw a line out the door and around the building at Torchy's last night. Soft opening?
Glad it's finally opening. Doubt I'll patronize for awhile as the Edmond soccer mom's and hipsters will be lining up for days. But when it settles down, it's sure to be on my regular local rotation.
What’s going in at the former PDQ location? Pretty substantial rework for a virtually new building.
Burger King is coming back? What is a lounge ???
Unless your brother Darrel is the manager?
I'd heard burger king as well
Tis Burger King.

Every month the City of Edmond posts a list of building permits here:

Happened quick, maybe even too quick for Edmond folks to organize an opposition to it like the Taco Bell going next to Lowes.
It's in an established shopping center. And really, those kind of statements get old. Edmond is no worse than any other town. 99% of new development happens without anyone hearing a single thing about it.
Chase bank on 2nd and Bryant completed a new building and moved into it. The old (rather ugly) building has been demolished. Makes a big difference... The area is looking really nice.
