This is the first chain opening of any kind that has excited me for a long, LONG time. TCS sells me nothing more than the DREAM of being organized, but it is a POWERFUL dream.

^My wife is literally giddy.
some people have a desire to contain everything. not that there's anything wrong with that.
Here is a recent statement about the store’s strategy/campaign....

There must be 40 baby Boomer aged women in line to get into the Container Store right now. Some sort of soft opening? How the hell do these women know of it, but I don't?
Opens tomorrow (Sat) at 10AM.
Hours are M-SA 10A-9P; Su 11A-6P
Popped in real quick to check out the new store. My only complaint is that the music broadcast throughout the store was way too loud. (Yes, I know the saying ... "If it's too loud, then you're too old.")
So, how was the selection of containers?
the selection was well contained
I think he's feeling a little boxed in.
Last night I went to CS with the wife and daughter.
I was walking around while the wife was shopping and saw two guys walk in, already bored, but their wives were ecstatic.
I was near them and said, "Hey guys, welcome to hell..." One said thanks, not realizing what I said and the other laughed a lot. I got glares from the wives...

The CS had a nice little run during Covid and the Marie Kondo years but, otherwise, that business model is just a complete disaster. People only need so many little plastic bins, and the majority of people in the market for plastic bins aren't going to willingly pay the CS tax. They'll just get them at Walmart or on Amazon and use the savings to hire professional organizers.
April, have you ever shopped there? If you're looking at it as just a place for plastic bins, then you've really missed the boat on what that store is for. I purchased 3 of those Elfa shelves for my pantry and they have been great. That's not a product you get at Walmart. We also purchase some door handing pan lid organizers, and shelf version of those for bigger lids. Did some under the sink organizers. I mean the list goes on and on and they are not the kinds of things you get just anywhere. And they are much better quality than you get from some Chinese crap on Amazon.
If it's not your thing, cool, fine. But that doesn't mean that its not a thing for others.
