I took my daughter to lunch this week and we went to HomeGoods. It was very well stocked and packed with shoppers. It will do very good in Stillwater.
Article on how college students can help bring a Target to town. At best maybe a scaled town version of Target for college towns placed on Duck St. on the large cleared off lot near Eskimo Joe's.

After years of struggle from trying to develop a cleared off block 34 in downtown Stillwater that only led to a somewhat impressive wind ornament, maybe something more serious is soon in the offering for 2021:

I went up to Stillwater a few weekends ago and took a long walk throughout the campus and the surrounding areas.
I had not been up there since the '80s and it was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
It's a great college town and it was fun to see all the improvements.
I got to do something similar for a small alumni event a year and a half back, was fascinating to visit again. If you stay overnight I recommend the little hotel in the student union, it was a fun experience.

Stillwater's 2nd IQ Car Wash opened Tuesday on Perkins Rd. across from Wal-Mart as pictured. This was the former site of the Sirloin Stockade buffet there for many years around three decades. Not pictured is Del Taco just north of there, which opened last year.
Stillwater's 2nd Starbucks, will open soon. It's west of 6th and Western.
Stillwater gets ranked no. 1 among 30 Great Conservative College Towns in America ahead of Manhattan and Auburn, among other notables:

Bunty, any rumblings about a downtown hotel if any sort? I’d love to have the option of staying a weekend in downtown and bar hop but I don’t want to have to drive to a hotel after.
Nope, and I bet the same with new downtown movie complex. For a close by hotel, the Atherton in the Student Union is practically across street from the strip. The next nearest hotel is the the Best Western Cimarron. It may not be a too far of a walk, especially if you end up off the strip at George's.
As pictured, home construction is booming near the northeast edge of Stillwater. It's the Skyline East, 2nd Section Residential Subdivision, located east of the junior high and just west of Jardot St. It's on 27 acres with 124 residential lots. In the same general area, north of the junior high, the west side of Grandview St. is being lined with new home construction for several blocks. Two bigger new subdivisions on the opposite side of town are just getting started. One is at located at 32nd and Western, called Frye Farms Residential Subdivision. It on 67 acres with 182 lots. The other to the north is Park Valley. It's on 80 acres with 329 lots.
Also pictured, a lot for development is being offered at Duck and Elm, a short walk from Eskimo Joe's. It was the site for a large new apartment complex, until it got canceled. I have no idea why, unless expected growth in OSU enrollment was disappointing. Of course, if could have been for something totally different.
Construction on OSU's impressive new Agricultural Hall started in April. It will cost $100 million. It's still in a very early stage of construction. Its construction cam can been seen here: https://api.ibeamsystems.com/api/cameras/ebc0082f8b/large/latest/?timestamped=true [api.ibeamsystems.com. Construction on a new frat recently started at University and Washington, or north end of strip. Construction on two new Greek houses on University Ave. is nearly complete. Pictures later.
The boom in new Greek house construction continues. The first two shown were quite recently completed and are directly across the street from each other on W. University.
These three were recently completed and are also on University:
Beta Theta Pi
This one just recently started construction at the SW corner of Washington and University, in other words, the north end of the strip. Another one also recently started construction at 3rd and Monroe. It's Chi Omega. The construction site displayed no photo of the completed house, so no photo to see.
Nearby, photos of recent new enhancements to Theta Pond. The first and second one shows the Greek Centennial Bridge. It divides Theta Pond from a much smaller pond. The photo below them is the new southeast corner entrance to Theta Pond.
Finally, to wrap things up, a look at the new expansion project underway on the south side of Stillwater Regional Hospital. It's for surgery and women's health. A photo of how it will look when completed is here: https://smc-foundation.org/projects/...lth-expansion/
Thanks for the updates. Looking good!
Pretty sure I can remember that bridge and pathway getting updated 20 years ago when I attended OSU, funny to see it getting fixed up again.
Starbucks will have another competitor for coffee lovers next month in Stillwater. Dutch Bros will be arriving in Stillwater in August and will be located on Perkins Road over by Little Ceasars Pizza. The Oregon-based coffee franchise was founded in 1992, and is currently the largest privately owned drive-thru coffee chain throughout the United States. Shifting from defense to offense: Mayor Will Joyce looks ahead in State of the City address
https://www.stwnewspress.com/news/sh...6e9b536b8.html
Article ends with, "Things are starting to move in terms of economic development, Joyce reported.
Several large housing developments are under construction.
Four local development projects have been approved for funding through a Tax Increment Financing incentive district and are underway, including a Stonecloud Brewery taproom at 10th Avenue and Husband Street and the repurposing of Boomer Lake Station.
Two more projects are just over the horizon, he said.
Details behind new Stone Cloud Brewing taproom. It will be in a downtown building closed for decades:
