I prefer places I can walk to from campus so the area is relatively small.

    Midway Deli
    Thai D
    Taco Casa
    Picklemans

When I don't want to walk....
    La Madeleine
Sisters (I love having Uber Eats delivery!!)

  2. Default Re: Restaurants in your regular rotation

I’ll take any opportunity to eat at Taco Nation when I’m in the area.

How can you leave Greek House off your walk from campus list? They've maintained their quality even after the sale by the long time owners.

    Wow, old thread resurrection!

    Our frequent regular rotation includes:

    Egg Roll Express
    Wa Ha Ha
    WOW Sushi
    WOW Korean BBQ
    Los 2 Tapatios
    Alfredos

    Our infrequent rotation includes:

    Panang 2
    Jo's Pizza
    Golden Phoenix
    Chuanyu Fusion

Lately, we've been trying more new restaurants, rather than just repeatedly going back to the same ones, with the exception of Egg Roll Express and Wa Ha Ha. Those are our comfort zone restaurants where when nothing else sounds good or we can't agree on a restaurant, we always leave satisfied.

Lol. They're ok, but I prefer Sisters for Mediterranean. I get to Greek House every couple of months though.

Anyone able to share where in OKC these places are? Within a mile, or so?

I haven't been to Tacoville in over 20 years and my wife has never been. Next time we hit Tamales El Patio, I plan to head over to Tacoville.

Louies for us too. I don't know why we don't go to The Garage more. We just never think about it but when we do go we like it.

Is that the Neptune's on Classen? I've always wondered if it is like the ones that were around years ago when there were lots of them. I used to love their roast beef sandwiches.

Yes it is and no they aren't that similar in any way but that they both have/had sandwiches.... Enjoyed both Neptune's, when the others were here, but mostly went to the other Neptune for the Philly.

I totally forgot to put CAVA. I love that place and am there at least once a week!

I used to go to the Neptune's where Half Price Books is now at 63rd/May decades ago and seems to me the sandwiches are pretty much the same at the Classen Neptune's as they were at that one.

That may have been one of the local Neptune's. I know they had multiple locations back in the 90's. I mostly went to the southside and short lived Moore location but the Neptune's on Meridian was different than those two.

This was actually back in the 70s that I ate there, and pretty sure they were local. We weren't here from 1995 - 2009, so any Neptune's during that period is unknown to me, didn't know there were non-local versions of them.

    Oh yeah -

If we drive to OKC it is almost always

    Cafe De l'Asie
    Sean Cummings / Vito's
    Burger Punk

Unfortunately, I am bound by my young kids to CFA and Raising Cane's. I about can't even eat at those places anymore, but...

Hacienda Taco, Qdoba, and Earl's are my go-to places, but I try to go to a lot of different places when I can. Little Mike's is a great burger with actual cherry and vanilla for your coke.
