Maybe it is just all the work in the very top, but my friend that works for Hines was confident on the timeline.

Anyone catch the fireworks show on the Devon tower last night? While Bankfirst was showcasing the flag and looking great, the triangle at the top of the Devon tower was doing fireworks splashes. I hadn't noticed that they had put anything with LED that large up there before. Is that the first time they've used it?

Pete showed images of the same American flag graphic during testing back in February. It will be great when all triangles have that capability.

This was at 9:01 last night (July 4). There was one tiny panel that appeared to be unlit, but otherwise it looked awesome. And yes, the flag was animated. Click image for larger version.

With the way the fins run all the way up and down the side of the building they could do a really cool countdown for new years with the lighting

The fins will never be lit up again. They have substantial damage from the wind and weather in addition to historically having issues from the start. Upthread pete has a graphic with the new lighting which will all be internal.

It makes way more sense components with known wear over time and entire system in the fixture could be replaced eventually, even if they actually worked great day one. There is a limit of how long any electronic component will work properly and some will fail long before the statistical average, which pales in comparison to the length the building would be around.
