Anyone catch the fireworks show on the Devon tower last night? While Bankfirst was showcasing the flag and looking great, the triangle at the top of the Devon tower was doing fireworks splashes. I hadn't noticed that they had put anything with LED that large up there before. Is that the first time they've used it?
With the way the fins run all the way up and down the side of the building they could do a really cool countdown for new years with the lighting
It makes way more sense components with known wear over time and entire system in the fixture could be replaced eventually, even if they actually worked great day one. There is a limit of how long any electronic component will work properly and some will fail long before the statistical average, which pales in comparison to the length the building would be around.
It seems the terminology is causing confusion.
There will be lighting on every floor within the three vertical indentions as well as the three triangles at the top. The LED lights will actually be inside the glass.
There are also vertical mesh metal panels in those indentions where the original LED system was installed. Those are now decommissioned in favor of this new interior system.
