    Thunder Re: OKC Thunder 2014 - 2015

Gotta hand it to James, he put on a 3-point close out clinic there at the end.

Give it up to the Thunder, we were still in the game right until the very end when Westbrook was fouled--like they say in the NBA, you're not going to get that call.

Straight up, that crap needs to be changed, a foul is a foul; NBA has set a bad precedent by not calling fouls near the end--it signals to players that they can foul & there's the likelihood it won't be called by the officials.

Houston tried to foul Westbrook before he got the shot off so that he would only shoot two. That was BS non call on the officials part.

We'll weather the storm, our Thunder are coming together.

We need Collison, Ibaka &/or Roberson back. Too many ticky-tacky fouls are whistled against Adams.

Get well, Kevin Durant, we love you, we wish you a dedicated 'full' uninterrupted season--Presti has the pieces in play for an NBA championship for the 2015-16 season.

I know it would against the rules somehow, and it is a bit too late for April's Fools day, but wouldn't it be soooo funny to see Popovich's face if Serge came out suited up for the game?

Pelicans host the Warriors tonight at the same time during our game. Will be interesting to see how much "rest" the Warriors give their stars.

Meanwhile, we just need to take care of business tonight. Without Serge the Thunder has been horrible vs the Spurs, but maybe Russ can drop a 50 bomb.

Yes - we may get an indication tonight of who the Warriors "want" to play! ha

Without KD coming back are we even sure Golden State would rather play the Pelicans than the Thunder? We haven't been excatly lighting the world on fire as of late.

Although, Ibaka's potential return is the one reason they might prefer the Pelicans. Having said that, the Warriors should not fear either team.

Non-basketball related, Russ did a nice thing for another human being: Westbrook Surprises Oklahoma City Mother with Car | Oklahoma City Thunder

Make sure to watch the video.

After tonight, I'm afraid it's time to stick a fork in em. I think they're done.

Good. Put this season out of its misery.

I don't want to see the Thunder lose by 25 + points to the Warriors 4 games in a row anyway.

During the stretch in every pro sport the teams that are fighting for position kick it up a notch. The Thunder obviously just don't have another notch.

Pelicans should lose 3 or 4 of their last 5.

Thunder should win 3 or 4 of their last 5.

Odds are still in OKC's favor. But at this point, the question is should we even limp in to get slaughtered, or should we just shoot for another lottery pick?

Personally, I say limp in and get destroyed. The guys have earned it, this season has been a disaster and letting the new guys get a sample size of playoffs would potentially be beneficial for next year.

I read somewhere that ownership makes ~$2mm per playoff game... regardless if we get blown out 4 games or not, that's a lot of money to miss out on.

Will be interesting if it comes down to that last night (April 15) and Pelicans need a win to keep a tie with us and advance and they play Spurs in NO. They were down double digits last night to GS and come back to win. UUGH. Assuming Thunder gets to 45 (win 3 of last 4) that means NO needs to win their two easy games and then one more against either Grizz, Hou or Spurs to get the tie and advance. Games all on same nights after their game with Grizz tonight. DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME!

    Thunder have 4 games left:
    Sacramento @ home, win
@ Indiana, should be a win but the way we've played the last 7 who knows
    Portland @ home, loss
    @ Minnesota, win
    So, 3 and 1

    Pelicans have 5 games left:
    @ Memphis, loss
    Phoenix @ home, win
    @ Houston, loss
    @ Minnesota, win
San Antonio @ home, could be a loss but Pop is known for sitting everyone if there's nothing to gain. That could depend on if they have a chance to move up to #5 by then. San Antonio could screw us 3 times in three weeks.
So, 3 and 2 if San Antonio sits everyone or 2 and 3 if San Antonio plays.

So, by if we finish 3 and 1 we would be 45 and 37. If Pelicans go 2 and 3 they end up 44 and 38 and we're in. If the Pelicans go 3 and 2 we look forward to next year.

But who knows what will happen? People keep telling me that's the fun. I don't find stress fun. LOL

The Pelican losses assume those playoff teams do not rest their players, which is often done this late in the season. Also, N.O is a much more compelling Playoff team than the Thunder with AD and the other players

I know. I was trying to look at the best case scenario. Which still is barely hanging on.

Rockets and Grizz are still fighting for 2 seed so they should stay engaged. Spurs on last night might not, which is why that final night could be really interesting if it will decide NO fate. I agree that it probably won't play out as we are drawing it up which is what makes it FUN!

We (Thunder) have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel...

Warriors got a taste of the Pelicans last night and they bit off more than they could chew.

True - 1-6 is quite a jumble! GS at #1 and Dallas at #7 are about the only things set.

I've been following the NBA for 60 years and have never followed a playoff race so closely as I have this year. The computations are dizzying and the nail biting is real.

I'm a season ticket holding fan but truthfully the Pelicans are better than the Thunder this year and that's hard to accept. I know how we lost so many games but I can't figure how the Pelicans lost that many.

Next year you hope everyone stays healthy, Kanter learns to play Thunder defense and the new players mesh together during training camp. If so, the Thunder should be in the hunt.

Why do you think the Pelicans are better? If you simply take away the 5-10 games when the Thunder had almost no rotation players available the Thunder has a far better record. Simply adding Ibaka back probably makes the Thunder a better team... even without KD. Not sure I'm conceding the Pelicans are better. They're pretty inconsistent.

The Pelicans lost by 36 and that ties them back up with the Thunder with tough games left. This isn't over yet.

Even Steven with NO - 4 games left. Actually game down due to tiebreaker but as a practical matter that was a must win by the Grizz tonight for Thunder sake. 3-1 for us; 2-2 for them on remaining games and its HELLO GOLDEN STATE on a clean slate. I'd be glad to have another week or so of local NBA fun regardless of the outcome of first round.

With Ibaka, Collison and Durant healthy we're a far better team.
    But right now we're not.

The Pelicans have had their share of injuries also, most notably, Davis for several games, Eric Gordon for a good part of the year, Jrue Holiday for the last third of the year and Ryan Anderson recently. I'm just saying that the Thunder minus Ibaka and Collison makes us weaker than the Pels without Holiday and Anderson.

Our rotation, at the moment, puts a little too much pressure on Westbrook and, at times, leaves us with a defensively weak lineup. We don't match up well with the Pelicans. Nobody has been able to stop Tyreke Evans and whatever big man we've tried hasn't been able to stop Anthony Davis or even slow him down. They beat us three times this year with the last game when we had both Durant and Ibaka... And Westbrook scoring 48 points. And this was at home.
