Okay...I think it is time to lock this thread down since it is just silly to leave it open.
I would want to keep it open, but with the glitch the board not being able to shorten the page numbers at the bottom of the last post is crazy.
Pete, can you seek support to shorten those page numbers? Something like this...
1 2 3 4 5 .... 37 38 39 40 41
It would make the layout look nicer.
Or we could just start a new thread when construction starts
^^^I like that idea! Sounds good! Only a few more months until the new thread starts!!
Congrats on your historical post # Tman. I say leave this thread open (no matter how trivial it gets) until the new construction thread opens. Even if its just for general discussion, excitement and hype. I was thinking the other night how in just one year the parking garage will be complete and groundwork will be well underway at the tower site. I cant wait.
As I've mentioned before, we'll start a new thread once construction is underway and transfer over some of the more relevant renderings and articles.
Looks like that will happen right around Oct. 1.
I'm like a proud parent - a thread I started has topped the 1,000 mark... Pete, do I get a prize?
There are some new renderings of Devon Tower at the Pickard Chilton website.
I bid on something for that project calling October to December delivery, so something's happening.
Here they are... Note the new structure in the lower left of the first photo. That must be the proposed auditorium:
Is it really gonna be that sparkling?
I also noticed how much sunlight will be going thru in the 2nd pix. It sure look like a toasty building. What kind of glass are they going to be using?
57 days and counting until construction starts!
I don't agree. Because, in the picture with this POV, you're looking west south west. The Chase Tower is two blocks east, one block north of the site for the Devon Tower making the Devon Tower appear precisely as it is--behind and just to the right (practically directly west) of the Chase Tower. Its proximity to the Oklahoma Tower is just about perfect. If you move it, in your rendering, between the Chase Tower and the current Devon headquarters, it's going to be way too far away from the Oklahoma Tower--and you can't slide that too, lol.
I love how modern it looks. I hope this is the first of many more to come!
new article in the oklahoman on the tower. Granted, it is a crappy article, but one none the less
