For at least the last few days, I've notice a large, unmarked satellite truck parked downtown at the Skirvin Hilton. It has no markings from what I can tell, and some slide-outs make it even bigger while parked. It made me wonder if the cast and crew for Saving Grace are in OKC right now filming some scenes for the upcoming season, and the Skirvin is their home base while here.
Probably not. When a crew (even second unit) is on location filming or taping for a motion picture or television series, it is usually a large caravan of vehicles. All usually have cards on the dash or windshield with the name of the production and the production company on them.
They wouldn't need a satellite either.
H.I.! I want a baby! That is, by far, my favorite movie she's done.
That is a Federal law enforcement vehicle. If you got close look at it like I did, you would have seen the US government plates on there as well as the red and blue police lights on the cab of the truck.
I think it is an FBI or Homeland Security mobile command center. They where probably having a training session or seminar related to law enforcement.
Yes, that's exactly what it was. That was the base hotel for the Cyber-Security Education Consortium attendees. Representatives from the DOD, FBI, NSA and the NSF took a look at the programs in place at various Oklahoma colleges. Also, the AG was here on Tuesday.
I have it on good authority that the producers plan to move production to Oklahoma City full-time.
That would be sweet. Perhaps they can move to Film Row. I've seen alot of activity going on over there lately.
They could office there, but they'd need large warehouse-type space for sound stages. I think there might be some good options over near 50th and Santa Fe.
Does anyone know when this will be on TNT I would like to see what it will be like since some of the people that I work with helped them with making the show
It premieres Wednesday, July 18, but there is good preview running right now before the movie at AMC, and I think Tinseltown as well.
Looks like there's some pretty urban scenes.
thanks
Those "urban scenes" are actually Vancouver, Canada - I recognize some of the skyscrapers in the background.
But yes, this is going to be great for OKC.
Having Vancouver "stand in" for OKC in a nationally televised audience will be amazing for the image of OKC!!!!!
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
Holy COW!
This isn't the same preview I saw last week before Pirates III. The preview in Jacksonville actually showed part of downtown OKC. There was one scene that showed HH stading in front of the OKC National Memorial.
Yeah I saw one at the movie theatre that showed actual OKC shots.
Hey, and they didn't have her listening to Country in the car.
There's a pretty cool 6 minute "teaser" video clip at TNT ... I haven't compared with the above to see if it's the same ...
DramaVision
Looks pretty good to me!
Edited Note: The video clips above a similar in part, but the TNT link is more complete. I'll be watching! Hell, I might even become a religious person again!
On Further Edit: Probably just wishful thinking, but the background images in the video clip at this point certainly resemble 1st National Tower & Kerr Mcgee ...
close but no enchilada.
The point tower does somewhat resemble 1st national but where's the beacon? The other tower is not lit-up like KMG and those lights in the floors do not reflect reality either..
Nope, that is not OKC but the good news is most people in America will think highly of OKC due to Vancouver's great and amazing downtown buildings, culture, and urban grit. Hopefully, OKC can match some of that eventually.
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
I think a lot of us are whining over nothing. This is a situation where any pub for OKC is good pub. And if it really is moving here to shoot full-time, that says a LOT. TNT produces some pretty good shows. It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out. One thing is for sure: The Industry is a copycat business. How do you think Austin and Vancouver got to where they were now? Hollywood didn't always know about those places. But someone went there, the place was great for them and the word spread. That's what OKC has to hope for in this situation. Word of mouth is everything in Hollywood.
And, having a city like Vancouver stand in for OKC only makes the PR that Grace will bring for OKC EVEN Better!!!
People who watch the show will begin to see OKC as a progressive, modern, urban city with big city issues and excitement. That is what Vancouver has and what OKC has in some areas but is not very well known.
I like the idea of Vancouver representing us, that will be wonderful - I just want us to get some more of that urban progressivism that Vancouver boasts.
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
"the richest cattleman in oklahoma" really?
I'm looking forward to this show, but in looking at the
list of characters, we find:
Kate Perry
Grace Hanadarko
Bobby Stillwater
Butch Ada
Earl
Detective Ham Tipton
Rhetta Rodriguez
Leon Cooley
Clay Mahoney
Noone in the rest of America will get the joke, but what's next......
a guest spot for a character named Clinton Enid or even worse.......
Paul Valley????????????
Am I the only one who is thinking that out of the million at least watching this show, there definitely WILL be some people outside the state going "Hey, wait a minute, that's not Oklahoma City in the background, that's Vancouver! I went there just last month, I even know that tower, we went to a restaurant that's just across the street from it!" And if they show boat marinas and such in even one episode, it will be obvious to those who didn't catch it the first time.
