It's still there, just not as a movie theater, believe it's a church now (just clarifying the "was"es ).

The original projection stands (there were two, one for each side, were never really big enough for anything save the projection equipment. Eventually a larger C-Stand was built between the theatres, The originals looked like this

Fortunately none of the OKC theaters are slated to be closed.

I have some problems with Cinema tour, thebiggest is the number of people who take original research and photographs and post the material as their own.

Another problem, go the site and read the entry on the "Dive-in" Theatre is lists on SOUTHWEST 29TH. The claim is there was a theatre in OKC with a large HOT TUB. no such theatre ever existed in Okc. I defy anyone to prove such a theatre existed anywhere in Oklahoma city like that.the claims are all over the place and in places where no theatre ever existed. It seems to stem from one bogus posting by an Okc local who should know better!

There was a theater at SW 44th and May Ave called Southpark Cinema 4. The building is still there. Years ago it was a church but not sure now. I saw Jaws and Star Wars there when they first came out.

That area, sadly, deteriorated pretty rapidly and the Southpark disappeared years ago.

I guess the most routine movie stomping grounds I can claim was the old "Park Terrace" over on Western, which opened as a single-screen theater and was later converted to a dual-screen (back when dual screens were a Big Deal). The building is still there, actually, and until a few months ago was operated as some sort of dance club, I think, although it looked like it was kind of a rough place. Pretty sure the place is for rent/unoccupied right now.
I just posted about Southpark It's not on the list. I saw Jaws and Star Wars at the very first showing. I still remember lining up against the rough gray rock wall.
