The fact that there was an email sent by the CVB to their contacts means it wasn't much of an insider secret. Maybe you should be mad at the CVB for spoiling the big surprise.

I know I am late to the party here but I have an honest question.

By the last 2 lines of the email does it not seem that the email author wanted it to be public knowledge so there is a big turn out for the "Official" announcement?

Makes for a better press release in my eyes to have a large crowd picture at the "Official" announcement.

BINGO! Not only that, but the CVB info included a digital "invitation" from the Boathouse Foundation. I tried to post it, but couldn't. At that point, the proverbial cat was out of the bag.
