Thanks for posting the pics Doug. Glad to see them finally getting a permanent sign up, although it is high up on the building.

I'll make an effort to go there when I'm picking up something new...but if I know what I'm looking for, its prices are slightly high compared to others in the area.

Ran into the owner at the bank today; he was all smiles. I don't think he was faking it. He said they are exceeding expectations.

Also, in case anyone was wondering where they might pick up small kegs of COOP Aleworks' delicious brew: that's the place.

The space has had an interesting life, for those who are interested in such things. Most here probably know that until recently it served as Grant Humphreys' sales office. But over the past decade it also served as the first office of the Historic Automobile Alley Main Street Program and was home to the first two Chocolate Decadence events. It also spent time as the offices of the Chateau Collection, and even had Chateau's manufacturing operation located on the ground floor for a while. It's one of my personal favorites on Broadway.

Sounds like the truth to me. Their employees always range from very friendly to acceptable, nobody can argue that they don't have an awesome selection, and every time I've had a question they seemed to know their stuff.

I don't deny they know their stuff and are friendly, but, since the thread was discussing Broadway Wine Merchants at the time, it seemed oddly placed.

I do prefer to shop at Broadway, however, because of the service and smaller feel. Byron's is almost overwhelming. And because Broadway has special tastings and events.

Like many have already expressed, I have been impressed by both the service level from Dave, the owner, and the price on my visits to Broadway Wine Merchants and now give them the majority of my patronage. I still go to Byron's occassionally. The biggest drawback for Byron's to me has always been the parking lot/intersection. It is awkwardly placed and I always feel like I'm inches away from being slammed into by someone who isn't paying attention to the oddities of the location and may or may not have automobile insurance.
