Yeah, it's really all of this piggy backing that has screwed it up. I think if everyone used their draw to buy their needs instead of doubling up for the needs of their friends, the selection process would have lasted longer and the integrity of the draw would have remained intact. So, as it is, it ended up being not how good your draw was, but how many people you knew on the list that got picked earlier. It's kind of like waiting in a long slow moving line and then watching all the people in front of you run into friends and let them in.

Friends are good to have, and I won't deny that I got in a day + 2 1/2 hours earlier via that route than tomorrow at noon. But, if you're really wanting to get tickets, and have an appointment, BDP, chances remain good that you'll get them. When are you scheduled for your appointment?

Here's the Official Kiss Off from the Thunder Team re Thursday Seat Selections:

We have completed day three of the Thunder's Select-a-Seat process and we want to communicate to you how things look for those of you with appointments on Thursday.

We have now sold more than 10,000 season tickets and have approximately 3,000 remaining. We can report to you that the lower level of the Ford Center is now sold out. The remaining seats are predominately on the upper level. About 500 club seats remain for sale but those are for only one year due to planned renovations to the Ford Center.

We encourage you to keep your Thursday appointment. We don't know for sure how long the remaining seats will last but you should come see what's available. Buying an upper level season ticket prioritizes the ticket holder ahead of partial season ticket plans and individuals who are placed on the waiting list.

We hope to see you on Thursday!

Just got home and got tix that I wanted! Section 303, Row J, seats 1 and 2. Would rather have had a few rows lower, but was more concerned with aisle seats.

For those with later appts, all lower bowl tix are sold out. There were many club seats still available and quite a few upper level seats left.

They take people in by groups of 100 and in my group at 630p, there were quite a few empty seats. So people are either giving up on their appointments or have gotten in with some earlier people.

I know you're going to be disappointed Karried, but just look at it that you are going to be a part of history. Upper level seats are not that bad. I actually prefer them in a way.

Just getting yourself an account and being a part of it is going to be awesome!

    Thanks Intrepid,

We'll see how it all pans out.

I've actually had some great times in the uppers but my vision is so poor that I really can't see the game very well and I get vertigo and am afraid of heights.. so I'm not so much disappointed that I might be in Loud City, more disappointed that I can't actually see the game! lol

If I get tix I'll be happy to be there... just not as happy as I might have been if I were able to get the seats I really wanted.. but oh well, that's the luck of the draw I suppose.

I have friends that had better draws than me (some with opportunity before monday, actually), but I wanted to keep it in my name and didn't feel right about it. That's just a personal choice that I know most wouldn't do and I understand why. I have one on friday, but I am not sure what I am going to do, yet. I know that what I wanted is gone, so now it's just a matter of what the best strategy is for getting what I want in the future.

I understand what you are saying, BDP. Had someone (Beecool) not have sent me a private message inviting me to be present with him yesterday morning, which invitation I gladly accepted, that wouldn't have happened. That doesn't diminish the fact that I'm glad that he did. I could have said, "No, but thanks, just the same," as you perhaps would have done.

Yeah, I don't know. I might have taken it at this point, but I also doubt that I could have made it. I made plans for Friday and it probably would have been too late to switch things around now. My rep initially told me that 1) I was about the middle of the pack and should be fine and 2) the only way to get 4 together was with one account and that any partners I had would have to leave their tix in my name. Since it was important to me to have the tickets in my name, I did not take any steps to piggy back on people I knew with better draws. But I assume with all of these people who are doing it, that the team will be pressured to let everyone switch the tickets into their own name. IMO, that's where the real screw job comes in. If your buddy wants to get you tickets on his account using his draw, well.. what can you do? But if someone uses someone else's draw to create their own account, then I feel jobbed. Mainly because I was led to believe otherwise, I guess.

Should that happen, nothing, and I understood that risk. Not having the tickets in my name did give me pause ... but possibly not getting to go to every game this season, especially since the opportunity was present to select the the seats I would have picked on the 1st day had I been there, prevailed. It was no contest. I may come to see the matter differently next season, but I doubt it.

Okay Doug and Centerback, we'll be section mates!

311 Represent! What I like about this is a) Restrooms right out the door b) Concession right out the door c) Exit right out the door - very convenient, plus you get to see the players faces and get to see the teams come onto the court.

Since my date & time was so late in the game, I did have to go pretty high but I'm next to the aisle one pole away from 312 so I feel like I'm looking down on the whole game rather than the very ends.

I got 4 Upper Seats instead of 2 Club seats and felt really glad that I'm now able to bring the kids to most of the games now.

Plus, the Club Seats wouldn't have guaranteed a ticket choice next year.

It was a hard choice, I got there at 1:00pm for a 1:30pm appt and left at 3pm. lol, we must have sat in every seat.. poor reps!

I was glad they were in our name only for next year and because I added our company name in the event that we wanted to give clients some tickets. But, I think they will let you change your accounts and add your own name. At the very least, Doug you might be able to 'add' your name to the account.. that's what we did, we added our Company name as well as the primary ticket holder.. something to look into if you're worried about it.

So, I'm looking for some binoculars, taking some Dramamine and will have a blast .. can't wait for opening day!

    * I would recommend that anyone with an appt still try to go and at least get a few uppers - there are lots of those left and a few Club seats. Today, there were hardly any people there at all.

One thing I didn't like was that if there are only three seats left on a row you can't buy two because they don't want to leave a single seat... you either had to buy all three or couldn't buy at all.

So, if club seats are the goal, then you want to take best available anywhere but in the $45 club seats that are going away, right? That way, you are still in line for an upgrade, whereas the 45ers will go back into the general ticket waiting list?

I'm kind of worried about pulling the trigger on nosebleeders with the hopes of upgrading, because I am not really sure they have any idea yet how they will appropriate upgrades next year. I get the feeling they are taking it one week at a time.

  13. Default Re: Anyone Else Nervous? Tix?

Yes, the way I understood it was that these $45 Club seats are going to be upgraded to suites next year (much higher price tag) and you will have no guarantee for tickets anywhere in the Ford Center. These are only good for this first year.

My friend who bought 4 regular Club Seats had to sign a 3 year contract.

With the 300 seats you will at least have a guarantee to purchase tix and if lower seats open up, you will have a chance at a pick.

That's what the rep was saying.. he was trying to get us to buy 2 Clubs and 2 Uppers so that we would have a chance next year to get the seats we wanted.

But, like you said, they are taking it one week, if not one hour at a time.

Glad you decided to get tickets, Karrie, and in 311! If you don't mind me asking, how many did you get?

  15. Default Re: Anyone Else Nervous? Tix?

I got 4 seats. I'll be throwing popcorn on you though, you're way below me!

Congrats to everybody who got tickets! Maybe we should have an OKCTalk event before the first game. Karrie, what did the remaining selection look like when you left? Do you think people are not buying tickets because they can't get what they want or buying upper level to get a seat in hopes of upgrading next year?

Sounds like a great idea to me! Maybe dinner at the Ice House or something.

I was actually surprised at the selection and more surprised that there were so few people there.

I think the media scared a lot of people away and the emails sent were pretty disheartening, but they were right, there are still plenty of seats left in the uppers. They're not the best seats of course, but they are seats for our first NBA team.. that's the way I looked at it.

I hope they give everyone a chance to keep their appts until there is nothing left, but they sure have a lot of staff sitting around doing nothing.

If I had an appt tomorrow, I would go.. at least get 2 uppers and have season tix, and hope next year for better seats.. if not, you'll at least have the first year.. and that won't come again.

I'd meet for dinner first.. Ice House might be incredibly packed though for the Opener.. we'd have to get there before they even opened! How about Hooters? lol

Wherever it is, hopefully the beer will be less expensive than the Ford Center, on second thought, I'm so high up, I'm afraid to drink and walk.

I'm sure every restaurant around there will be swamped... what's a good place around with lots of tables and space? CrabShack? I'm burnt on Bricktown Brewery.. that used to be my favorite before game spot, now I'll have to find something else.. Chelinos was always packed but the beer and chips and salsa were always great. I think it's a good idea..

I hope everyone gets a ticket tomorrow.....

Check out this item on eBay: Item number: 300257157677

    This guy wants $2500 for 2 tickets to the first 10 games in section 308, Row 1. Okay...those tickets are what - $50 a seat x 2 = $100/game x 10 = $1000 and he's starting the bid at $2500!!

Seriously! I hope no one actually pays that much for tickets on the upper deck even if they ARE midcourt.

Hey, if someone can't go to all the games and wants to list them in a ticket exchange or on eBay - fine, but geesh! don't be a complete jerk about it! I'm going to watch the auction - just to see if he actually gets it. Personally - I think he's delusional.

Oh my God.. did you see that someone used Buy It Now and actually bought them !?

The price isn't too far off ... $12600. would have been the price if I'm not mistaken.. he made a cool $1300 just for getting an early draw.

I thought we weren't supposed to sell them?
