That trade haul is outrageous... Exciting to say the least.
That trade haul is outrageous... Exciting to say the least.
KD hobbled off after game tonight. Hmmmmm.
And in the aftermath of all of the trades, OKC is now finally in a playoff spot.
OKC looked legit tonight. Morrow and Ibaka pouring in with Russ is unstoppable.
KD looks hurt, like he looked like he shouldn't even be in the game. He also keeps changing his shoes. Not sure what to think anymore. Hope he doesn't need surgery again. I say if he needs to heal, then sit him for a few weeks and let Russ go MVP mode.
Time for the team to gel. If KD misses more time then this season could be in jeopardy.
A very nice going away comment by Perkins.
OKC Thunder: Kendrick Perkins says farewell to Oklahoma City | NewsOK.com

Thursday brought great change to Oklahoma City. Nearly a third of the roster is turning over. Even though many pundits believe the Thunder was among the day’s biggest winners, it definitely lost something on this NBA trade deadline.
Perk will be missed.
Thunder brass recognized as much. They didn’t want to trade him. They had their hand forced when Reggie Jackson demanded a trade and Perk and his big expiring contract had to be part of the deal to make the math work out.
Visited a Utah Jazz forum; some of their posters claim they weren't too thrilled with Kanter. IMO, the feel was that they probably didn't want to lose this guy. Kanter has his fans as well as his critics.
Anyway, if you get a chance visit Jazzfanz message board; they have a huge, huge, huge, basketball community fan base.
IMO: There are some real crazies on this board along with some Alien avatars (hard rock variety) that are down right nasty.
He has changed his shoes throughout games alot over his career. Yesterday was the biggest KD shoe release of the year, with the Aunt Pearl, and Chinese new year editions. So, it was just a Nike marketing deal, with his first two shoes last night. But the reoccurring injury/discomfort is definitely concerning. He hasn't been right for a while. He aggravated (re-injured) the foot late in the Memphis game, and was hobbled all during the All Star break. With virtually 10 days of rest...its somewhat worrisome to me..that he isn't getting better. It wouldnt completely shock me, if Thunder management comes out in the very near future to tell us that Durant is done for the season.
Primo Trio: Armed and extremely dangerous!

Let's go Thunder!
No question it was a big trade day for Oklahoma City. I said in the NBA thread that once in the playoffs, we'll look back on this as a pivotal moment. Seems the national media all agree as well.
NOL and PHX both lost. I say rest KD tomorrow.
Looks like Perk will land with Cavs. He and King James tweeting about it today.

Very interesting how Brooks played Westbrook, Augustin and Waiters together for so many mins. Appears they have lots of confidence in DJ.
Although it's unlikely, the Thunder are still within range of moving up to 4th in the West.
2014-2015 NBA Regular Season Conference Standings - National Basketball Association - ESPN
Yeah we all know that's very unlikely. I do hope Jackson is successful in Detroit hopefully he averages 20 5 and 5 but I don't think he will get that 14 million a year he wanted. Good for Him though especially because he's playing in the weaker Eastern Conference..
What they're saying about the Oklahoma City Thunder:
The Thunder are finally playing like the Thunder
Have the Thunder already wrapped up the West playoff race? - SBNation.comSince Westbrook returned to the court Nov. 28, the Thunder are 26-13. Their net rating of +4.9 is fourth best in the league in that period, behind only the Golden State Warriors, Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers. The Thunder have not been without their struggles in that time -- at one point they dropped four out of five games to fall to 23-24 -- but are hitting their stride post All-Star break.
They're currently in the midst of a five-game winning streak, their second longest of the season, and are looking better and better. Meanwhile, their two biggest competitors for the final playoff spot are sputtering forward.
We're on track... The recent mid season trade has made us more lethal on offense. If yesterday's road victory over Charlotte is any indication, I wouldn't rule out a 5th seed in the Western Conference. Thunder are 6.5 games behind Portland in the Northwest Division after their 92-76 loss to Utah. Trailblazers host Memphis tonight.
Durant underwent minor procedure to alleviate pain in his foot today. They will re-evaluate him in a week.
It's a blow no question, but I don't think it's an insurmountable problem if Westbrook continues his tear and the supporting cast continues to play the excellent team ball we've been witnessing for the first time in a long, long while.
Russ the real MVP.
I feel for KD. he has too be so frustrated. When this team gels and gets in sync I think we just might have a shot at it.
Look pretty in sync right now; no KD. Pretty incredible to think KD's return could only be icing on the cake. If they keep playing like they have last few games I say rest KD until you need him. Right now the Thunder is +19 with Russ.
Russ the real MVP
This game is ridiculous
