You could knock me over with a feather if Rattler starts next week.

This is unnecessary. SR is on OUR team, playing his heart out for us, what a stupid, disrespectful comment regarding a likely teenager. I would regret the transfer of SR we still need him

look... i was really ashamed at the fans chanting and booing during the nebraska game. but i didn't take that comment in the same spirit at all. if rattler gets benched in favor of another player, chances are he's going to transfer to someplace that will give him playing time... and that's HIS choice. i don't see how pointing that out in a humorous way is disrespectful or stupid for somebody to say.

As a back up yes. As a starter no. Unless this was a flash in the pan performance by Williams and it just didn't have that feel. Especially on such a huge stage.

My point is not that he has not played poorly of late and may need to sit but this is the same kid who won the RRR last year. Ever heard of simply playing poorly? Why rag on one of our players. He transfers then who we got? Haven't we lost enough players to tp, injury, legal and academic issues.

I’m going to take this as a compliment coming from you
Exactly how I feel about all of your “OKC sucks” posts

Actually he’s 21 and probably raking in at least 6 figures this year. Comparing him to an innocent teenager is a little over dramatic.
The reality of the situation is that if Caleb is as special as he appears to be and starts the rest of the year, then Spencer will transfer. No doubt bout it.

I second every bit of this.

Definitely. SR is too good to be on a bench. But this year he just seems antsy. Williams moves better behind the line. Williams was in the grasp of a defender a few times and dropped one shotgun snap but he still made plays or at least throws that were close to the target off of each almost blown play. SR in such situations seems to just cave lately.

That was the most electric OU-TEXAS game I've ever attended. Absolutely incredible. When Brooks ran in the winning TD, I've *never* heard the OU end of the Cotton Bowl so amazingly loud. People across ro s were high-fiving and hugging each other. You go to a game like that and hope you see one maybe *half* that amazing, but yesterday was an absolute all-timer.

It had to be! I would have loved to have been there.

It's taken a day for me to compose myself but I concur and I'll one up it. That's the most electric OU game I've ever attended and I've attended nearly every home game since 2000, every marquee away game and every OU/TX game since 2005 minus last year. If I had been at the OU Nebraska game in 2000, I would probably still say that was number 1 based on the stakes at the time, but that game Saturday was just something else. That game had everything...the team and the crowd both feeding off each other during the rally, both fan bases staying for the full game and engaged and going crazy until the last play, a true freshman that hasn't played football since his junior season in high school back in 2019 replacing a preseason Heisman candidate, fans rushing the field IN THE COTTON BOWL(!), Caleb Kelly's taking the ball away from Texas on a kickoff in his 6th season after all the adversity he's dealt with, the busted plays that Caleb Williams turned into first downs and TDs, all the calls going our way, underrated Kennedy Brooks winning the showdown with Bijan Robinson and Icing the game, then obviously ESPN Gameday and the whole State Fair environment before and after the game and the massive roller coaster after spotting Texas 14 in the first 2 minutes. The whole experience was just insane and it's something you could only experience in that stadium at the state fair with the crowd split 50/50. It's the best game in college football and one of the best experiences in sports.

Also the Texas fans at Gameday chanting "We want Caleb" was hilarious in hindsight.

PhiAlpha, I missed that hilarious chant. What's the ole Idiom: 'Be careful what you wish for (because) you just might get it.'

I have season tickets and at one point had gone to that game 13 straight years, but lately I've just watched from home.

On that last Kennedy Brooks TD, I was jumping up and down and screaming... One of the most incredible sports moments I've ever witnessed.

Today, my ankle was all swollen and bruised, as I obviously sprained it with that outburst... But I was so happy I didn't even notice it at the time.

There is simply nothing else in life that provides such sheer sudden, unhinged joy as an adult.

I have about a dozen similar football-related lifetime memories but this game will be right up near the top.

The morning after the game, my friend and I went to breakfast in Dallas. Both of us simultaneously commented on how we felt a whole body soreness like we'd just gone through an intense workout on Saturday. All we did was jump around in the stands, spend the entire game super tensed up, and walk around the fair. Just crazy.

I'm going to find an ice bath. Hope you get with the trainer, ice, elevate, and get that ankle taped up in time to get back in the game for the rest of the season. It's going to be fun.

    Speaking of the physical impact...

The only time I've ever vomited in public was immediately after the infamous OU/Texas tie in 1984.

My good friend was in graduate school at Texas so he got us seats on the Texas side. It was a cold, rainy, miserable day and I was hungover from being out on the town the night before.

OU got screwed so badly in that game and the Texas fans celebrated like they had won a national championship when they kicked the FG at the end to get a very undeserved tie.

I was so upset and angry, I leaned over and blew chunks under my Cotton Bowl seat. One of the worst experiences of my life, on many levels.

I watched the game at one of my favorite watering holes. Both thumbs were bruised from slapping the bar during that last run. Plus I couldn't barely talk all day. My wife said she was happy about the latter.

And what made the last TD even better was that I somehow ended up in between a handful of UT fans that dissed OU the whole game. They got a good dose of Sooner Magic!!!!!

Funny you should say that. I was at the game. During the 3rd quarter, a lady walked by with a "Sooner Magic" shirt on. I remember thinking to myself, it sure would be some kind of magic if they pulled this one out. Thanks for bringing that up, just now remember thinking that.

And I will also say, one of the most electric games that I can remember. It was like both sides of fans were on crack from the very beginning.

It's not lately. I only watched highlights last year and never felt good about him as our long-term QB. This year I've watched pretty much every snap, including the Nebraska game in person.

Against the Cornhuskers, there were wide open receivers all day that he didn't see or didn't have patience for them to run a route. He isn't mobile but he runs out of the pocket 2 seconds after the snap and basically eliminates half the field each play. He is not accurate at all. I don't think I've ever seen him hit a receiver in stride. People keep wanting to blame the run game and the O-Line for his struggles, but the entire offense ran like a dream once Caleb was in there. Every person in the world knows that this team looked completely different with Caleb Williams.

Reading that at half time he was in the tunnel telling the team "We are going to win. We got this." Playing like he did made the team look completely different. I hope we get to see more.

And that's the biggest point for Caleb being the starter. The entire offense played harder for him. This is a team game and if the team wants CW over SR then the team is better off with CW.
