Still hasn't happened. Where did you hear it would be announced at Noon?
Still hasn't happened. Where did you hear it would be announced at Noon?
There was a ton of misinformation out there about a supposed announcement and, as usual, in their rush to be first rather than correct, several sports journalists reported confirmation the game was to be played in Norman, and then retracted.
Tulane AD just confirmed on Twitter the game is being moved to Norman.

Statement from Tulane Director of Athletics Troy Dannen on Sept. 4 Football Game Against Oklahoma
Aug 30, 2021
First and foremost, my thoughts are with those in Southern Louisiana impacted by Hurricane Ida and to all those bravely responding to help. The health and safety of our citizens and of our first responders will remain our primary focus.
In light of the catastrophic damage sustained by the City of New Orleans and, after consulting with our emergency preparedness and response teams at the institutional, local and state levels, we will relocate our September 4 football game against the University of Oklahoma to Norman, Oklahoma. While game time will remain 11:00 AM, television information and other game-specific details will be announced by the University of Oklahoma. We appreciate the understanding, support and communication with the University of Oklahoma, especially Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione.
We have moved all Tulane athletic department operations to Birmingham, Alabama, including our student-athletes, and we will remain in Birmingham until it is safe to return to New Orleans. I want to thank UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram, Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne and the City of Birmingham for receiving our student-athletes, coaches, staff and families.
The status of future home competitions in football and volleyball will be determined in the days ahead.
Once again, our thoughts and prayers are with all of those impacted by this devastating storm.
From OU:
NORMAN, Okla. – This Saturday's Oklahoma-Tulane football game has been moved from New Orleans to Norman. Kickoff remains at 11 a.m., and the game will be televised on ABC as previously announced.
The change in location was made after Hurricane Ida moved across New Orleans and the Gulf Coast on Sunday. Conditions in New Orleans are not favorable to host a game this week. Even with the change in venue, Tulane will be the designated home team for this game and will retain all net proceeds from ticket sales. All tickets for this game will be sold separately and are not part of season ticket packages. Ticket procedures are included later in this release.
Tickets purchased through Tulane for the game in New Orleans may not be used for the game in Norman. Those patrons will need to resolve through the Tulane ticket office at the appropriate time.
Due to the short notice and holiday weekend, several of OU's contracted game services providers will be unable to assemble a full staff for this game. For that reason, only the lower bowl (including club levels, loge boxes and suites) of Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium will be used for fan seating.
Apart from those seats allocated for Tulane, OU season ticket holders will have first opportunity to purchase tickets and will be contacted Monday evening via email. Those with lower bowl, club level, loge box and suite season ticket locations may purchase their existing seats for this game. Those with seats located elsewhere in the stadium will also have an opportunity to purchase tickets and will be accommodated in various locations throughout the lower bowl. The deadline for season ticket holders to purchase tickets will be 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
The price of the lower-level tickets for season ticket holders will be $30, and $50 for suites and clubs to include hospitality. OU students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets priced at $20 beginning Tuesday. If tickets remain after season ticket and student requests are accommodated, a public sale will be held on Friday and those tickets will be available at $50 each.
OU now has 7 home games 1 neutral site and 4 true road games.
Oklahoma for the second time will be in a position to help out New Orleans. Following Katrina, the Hornets made OKC temporary home for two years--forgive me; they didn't want to leave.
Now we are providing the lower bowl of GF Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to host the Tulane Green Wave vs. the Sooners on the Gridiron.
Heard the former OU players on The Ref saying that if OU wears the all white away uniforms this could be the first time ever in Norman.
And Tulane will get all the ticket proceeds.
They are going to sell the most tickets they ever had. Good for them.
Tulane stadium capacity is 30,000.

Once the Sooners took control of this game, they didn't take their foot off the gas.
Also, look at Tulane, the Green Wave will be a thorn in the side of everyone on their schedule--defeated Morgan State 62-20. OU wasn't able to break the GW spirit or drive to win.
My grandson took my youngest great grandson to his very first OU game. Made sure he was masked and with plenty of facial & hand wipes. Little fella really enjoyed the game.

Best OU UT game in my 62 years on earth. I either clapped or slapped the bar so hard I severely bruised my left thumb. I have it on ice. But well worth it!!!!
