Thread: Classen Curve

It always seemed logical they would expand to make it more of a "square". I think it will help make it feel more like an outdoor mall.

Drove by Anthropologie tonight and a sign is up and they were working on the inside. It looked very good...

What's new these days in Classen Curve? I know that cupcake place off Western was supposed to open recently, but has anything else opened recently, or is anything slated right now?

tomorrows city council meeting has the action to close the streets which will allow the expantion of CC to start ..

i'm sure it will just be the extra parking first but those 2 buildings can't be far behind

Looks like CHK will be adding more restaurants to CC...

Request before the planning commission to change their Planned Unit Development zoning that limited them to 3 total restaurants to an unlimited number.

I suspect they are talking with someone to add a new eating establishment as their retail leasing seems to have stalled.

What street were they trying to close? 58th?

Pete - Parking is already so tight that I prefer going elsewhere. I don't consider any of the current restaurants to be a vital destination business. Why would CC/CHK Land or a restauraneur think that one more restaurant is a good idea? Second, what do you think is behind the demand plateau there at CC/Triangle?

Really? at its peak times your walking the equivalent of half a block. Only in Oklahoma.......

Color me stumped. Why would retail stall at an upscale retail center? It's not like OKC is flooded with nicer retail. Maybe this isn't as upscale as it was pitched?

Sure it's upscale, but it's poorly designed. A long, snaking center with no depth isn't ideal for landing certain types of tenants.

Uh, Republic burgers are the best in OKC. And the best I've ever had anywhere! That is vital!

It's only been LOCAL, upscale retail thus far in CC (not counting Triangle). I'm sure they could get plenty of nationals in if they wanted.

Where is this "modern micro community" that is being separately developed in relation to the two new buildings?

Spent the evening at Republic watching the Thunder game! It was awesome! I overheard some visitors from another state who were very impressed with the area.

It's being developed on an empty parcel in the Meadowbrook Acres neighborhood.

I went to the pre-grand-opening event Thursday. Crazy crowded! I'm very excited to have my favorite store here in OKC and hope that it shows more companies that we WILL support upscale retailers.

Anyone notice the lack of window frontage at Anthropologie? Is that the store's conceit or yet another monumental failure of design for the Classen Curve abortion?

  23. #823

Their idea. The whole front was supposed to be a window and they requested less. That was one of the reasons they didn't go into Classen Curve. They put so much emphasis on their windows they felt that much window would be overwhelming for their Visual Manager. I think the store looks good.

Wow. I would have set up Classen Curve differently (more walkable), but there are some excellent qualities also. People on this board really are ridiculous if everything isn't exactly the way they want it.

A FEW people can be characterized this way SOME of the time about SOME things.

Can you see the irony of using hyperbole to renounce hyperbole??
