Yeah, I thought it sounded far fetched when I heard it.

I don't have enough knowledge on how hard the ground is after about a 18-inches cause that the furthest I've ever had to dig so could someone else enlighten me and the rest who might be wondering this?
The opposite is true. Oklahoma has the best soil for building major things. the U.S. government decided that the best place to build a major outer space hub, would be north west of OKC. Our red clay is come of the strongest moist material on the earth, we have enough bedrock that we could build the tallest building in the world.

What a fantastic shot! Especially out of a plane window. Well done!

That has to be one of the coolest "from plane" pictures I've ever seen of a city.

Im presuming you take planes to DC as opposed to just putting on a cape!

Then why don't we have tall buildings yet? Lol what are they waiting on?

I'm not doubting you're post, I'm just being sarcastic. I feel I should clarify, people have been taking me really seriously lately. Lol but that also is very interesting as I never knew about the study or Oklahoma's clay being strong enough to hold the world's tallest building.

It isn't built on sand. Sand is on the surface. There is rock below.

Exactly, it has nothing to do with clay or sand or whatever kind of soil you have. The building is supported on bed rock.

I think this post shows what most people are forgetting. A year to get the foundation and 10 floors completed while the following year its topped out at 50 floors.

    Agreed 100%!

Makes me think of an apocalyptic movie poster.

Taken on Eastern at I-40 Eastbound exit on way to hospital.

I found a great lot on Reno. Its in Del City. I will have a view of the skyline.

I accidently deleted the two above pix and reuploaded them, but its still showing on here to me on the phone. Does everyone still see them above?

And here are some pix taken on Shields northbound between 29th and 15th toward the new I-40. The pix taken at several points and some are zoomed in all the way, so it may be blurry on larger comp screens.

The new I-40 area with new bridge for the train tracks. I don't know how they managed to do this while trains continue to cruise along.

A temporary bridge was built beside it.

There's a video somewhere that shows the process and how they built it while trains were coming by around every 15 minutes or so. And jn1780 is right but if you want to actually see them doing construction on it, then there is a video. Wouldn't be hard to find as long as you have a little patience.

And thanks for the pics Thunder, they look good. :-)

Is it just me or has the light on both cranes been brighter than normal the past month or so?

If you are referring to my night pix, they are enhanced with a camera app to brighten all lights.

No, I'm not referring to your night pics. I see Devon a lot at night and it seems as if the cranes have gotten brighter.

Okay, I love this picture but why are the sidewalks so crooked and there's no curbs? Over on another forum, there's some prick named kcmo who will pick out anything to try and turn anything positive about Oklahoma City into a negative. He lives in Washington D.C and is an avid Kansas City suck up but absolutely hates Oklahoma City and everything about it and he pointed that out about the sidewalks, curbs, and he also pointed out how there's no "underground utilities" and I would rip his arse up but I'm not regestered on that forum so I have to vent about it here. So could someone please explain to me what's going on with "underground utilities"? I heard awhile back that we were gonna try and do that but I haven't ever heard any progress on that if that in fact is planned to happen sometime.

I don't know, but personally I like the way that power lines add to the urban image.

Our sidewalk and road infrastructure sucks though, no doubt about it.

I'm amazed there is a sidewalk there at all.

Of course, sidewalks and trails are a big part of MAPS3 so there will be some good progress in the near future.

Yeah, that's the one time I've ever agreed with him, it's just that he's always bashing OKC so it makes it harder to want to accept it. Lol
