Thread: Raising Cane's

I'll get the chicken sandwich at Canes, but one thing Chik-Fil-A does well is make their chicken consistently moist. Never had a dry piece there, but I have at Canes. But enough of that sauce will make me overlook any dryness, tbh.

I tried Raising Cane's last weekend, and while the sauce is definitely good, the chicken strips were just okay. I found myself regretting not getting Chik-Fil-A. If I could get the Chik-Fil-A sandwich with the Raising Cane's sauce, that would be the best of both worlds.

You could do that where they have locations near each other. Just go to Cane's and buy the sauces for $0.25 each.

    Good Suggestion!!!
yet word on the street has it that those angels with flaming swords, guarding the entrance from food--or sauces--purchased offsite are serious. witch angels? the ones at Chick-fil-A. on Sunday this isn't a problem because an unwillingness of the Chick-fil-A guy to pay overtime.

I'm not really sure if that is accurate, but maybe The Lost Ogle knows . . . =)
"founder and publisher" indeed. more like flounder and oracle i would guess.
    just kidding.

The sauce is actually pretty easy to duplicate. Very similar to Zaxby's (east of the Mississippi mostly.) A quick Google search will yield the recipe....

You are joking, right? I worked in various fast food places including Wendys, McDonalds, Taco Bueno and a couple of others for over 15 years and all were all open on Sunday, yet overtime was virtually unheard of. i can't see that being the reason for them being closed on Sunday...

Like Hobby Lobby & Mardel's, it is a religious belief about the Sabbath being a day of rest. It isn't about overtime.

I know that . . . but "honoring the Sabbath" would mean closing on Friday night and all day Saturday.

No. 7th day for day of rest...unless you are Islamic or Jewish, which they aren't.

    Or Seventh Day Adventists . . . Or Jehovah's Witnesses . . . =)

I wonder if the people who work for the places that close down on Sunday sit at home without turning on the TV, radio, computer, or electricity so that nobody else is deprived of their day of rest.

Obviously you are making fun of the concept and people who believe in it, but to some it is a serious issue. And it sure hasn't hurt either Chick-Fil-a or Hobby Lobby as both are market segment leaders and highly profitable.

Yes . . . you are correct . . . yet I still have to wonder if Sabbatarians who do stuff on their Sabbath involving other people working don't feel just a twinge of cognitive dissonance. But it isn't important. Raising Cain's is open on Sundays and has better dipping sauce. =)

Looking at my calendar, Sunday isn't the seventh day of the week, but the 1st...of course from a functionality standpoint most consider Sunday as part of the weekend and Monday as the start of the work week, so...and for some reason the only time I think about going to CFA, Hobby Lobby etc is on Sunday when they are closed.

I think that the Sublimininal Satanists, behind the Raising Cane's label, ought to drop the facade and change the name back to Raising Cain. Except, of course, for the fact that Cain--although a killer--was a raiser of vegetables rather than meat (including chickens) so that might not be such a good idea on second thought. A lot like the killing of his brother Abel.

Just noticed today that Raisin Cane's is going in on NW Hwy just west of Rockwell on the south side of NWH. It is going in on the old pad where there was a service station. It will front NWH. It is west of Taco Bueno and the credit union.

A Can's on the direct path between his work and his new digs? Once it opens, that lad will rarely cook another supper. He's quite fond of Cane's and its sauce.

I'm pretty sure this Cane's will be on the NW corner of 36th and Main on the vacant lot to the west of the Arvest bank.

After eating there for the first time recently, I think Cow Calf-Hay duplicated it as well, they serve a portion of very similar sauce when I eat there.

Not a big fan of places with ZERO healthy options. Terrible place, IMO (tasted great, but insanely unhealthy). I know even "healthy" options at fast food places are still processed crap, but at least most places offer grilled chicken.

No offense, but if you're into healthy options, what in the hell were you doing at Cane's? It's not a terrible place by any means and it makes no sense that you call it terrible. You just had no business there if you're health conscious. It's not for that.

I've never had it so, I am not going to say anything bad about it, but do they have grilled chicken or is everything fried?
