Thread: TV show you MUST see

We liked "Lie to Me," but FOX kept messing around with its schedule and we gave up trying to keep track. It's gone now, sadly.

I've seen "Body of Proof" a few times, and its pretty decent, but I don't think any of the ME-style shows are as good as the classic old "Quincy, ME" was with Jack Klugman back in the late 70's (yeah, I'm that old). Although Jill Hennessy made me rethink my career choice when she did substantially another spin on the same format on NBC a few years ago after she left Law & Order. Man, she was/is pretty.

We watch "Big Bang Theory" when it doesn't get too raunchy. Not too many other network shows we really like these days. Frasier and Law and Order reruns, even this many years out of production, are still preferable to a lot of late-evening/late-night TV these days. But not even TNT is showing Law and Order much these days

    As for the rest...

    * Kitchen Nightmares
    * Cake Boss

[Paraphrase of Topic: "Must See/don't miss TV"]

    Longmire
(episode 4? on DvR recorded earlier, no previous exposure . . .=)

    Initial Impressions (Favorable. Really Favorable):
(critics rave--and express appreciation at the same time)
(most compelling TV Drama since Twin Peaks without all the interesting music yet with every cliché)
(watch it with a bowl of "Onion" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge,) dip . . . and be sure to Curb Your Enthusiasm =)
(dang . . . it's like The Wire met The Onion and decided to Curb Their Enthusiasm . . . resulting in this. far, far more amusing that the most recent Ron White jokes, The Classic Naked Gun, The latest release by The Supremes O' The Court . . . and cheaper too!)

i would insert a suggestion that "the hiking through the wyoming woods in search of a [nafta] drug cartel operative who appreciates religious restrained bobblehead icons scene" could have been improved by the unintentional tripping of one of the protagonist's henchmen over ancient Trailer Park Boys model-railroading tracks. the line could have been . . . "this looks like the work of those Nova Scotian shopping cart scofflaws!")

    Longmire
    is Must See TV.
    (or not or else =)

Another tidbit - three regulars won't be coming back for the abbreviated Body of Proof season: John Lynch, Nicolas Bishop and Sonja Sohn. Lynch played detective Bud Morris. Sohn played detective Sam Baker. Bishop played investigator Peter Dunlop.
The show will add a new cast member to the M.E. office to play off Dana Delany's Dr. Hunt.

I don't watch a lot of series TV, but a bit more than I used to.

    - Mad Men (AMC - By far my favorite)

    - Person of Interest (CBS)

    - Boss (Starz - Kelsey Grammer is the Mayor of Chicago)

    - Longmire (A&E - I've seen the first 5 episodes - very good!)

    - Fringe (Haven't seen them all, but it's fascinating in a bizarre kind of way.)

    Front Row Center (PBS/T-Bone Burnette-affiliated/Filmed Concert/OETA approved):
"Secret Sisters" (w/ Bob Dylan's Kid! et.al.!! Including Elvis Costello (Mr. Diana Krall! =)
No kidding on that one. It is a classic. (if you like good music)

Any Re-Run (on any Channel/Netflix/Whatever) of: "'Talladega Nights': The Ballad of Ricky Bobby"
(sorta made me wonder, while watchin' the Ruffles/Dip Commercial some''ere's jist a-fore his epiphany about goin' fast agin, jist how tiny the chips would have to be to partake of Flea Dip)
I think that the writing staff on "Longmire" are borrowing, heavily, from this show.
But not plagiarising. However that is spelt.

    And, of course, "Wok Hard" . . . =)
~currently existing only in the imagination of Willy "The Random aka RM" Wonka =)
    (and seriously copyrighted, BTW =)

    "Carnivale" goes without saying . . .
as does the lack of a proper ending for that series.
So does (or is that do?) "Mad Men" =)

Ooo Ooo Ooo Mr. Kot--tear! and "The Guardian" . . .
only "sincere (yeah, right) role" I've ever seen Dabny Colman play.
plus makes me dislike "the law profession" a little less
while lending credence to "The Mentalist" =)
