Not surprising that the reconstituted version of Pinocchio's went belly up.
Times have changed and if breadsticks are your calling card you will not be around long.
There are better options for pizza/Italian in town.

Same here. Nostalgia and curiosity got me in shortly after they opened. Your take is one I agree with. One and done.

That'd be a good addition. Makes sense as Hal owns that spot. Permitting for July hasn't come out yet so I can't really tell.

I was hoping this would be the one. 2nd choice was Upper Crust. Thank you for the info!

I heard it from my brother-in-law so blame him if I'm wrong!

I won't! Sounds very plausible, though.

It appears something is afoot at the former Blackbird’s. Was for lease, don’t see the sign now and demo/remodeling is occurring. I have no idea what it may be.

Word on the street is a country music dance bar. No idea owner or name.

This morning saw a sign on the old Penny Hill for "Coach's Corner" going in. Again no idea owner or anything of that matter. Permits for july don't list anything at either location.

A country themed bar could probably work pretty well there. They all require a lot of space and are almost always packed. That’s a gap in the market that no one has touched in a long time (that I know of), especially not on campus corner. Sooner Corral was the only country dancing type bar I remember but it was far enough away from campus that the distance probably hurt its draw. Also feel like I remember them getting in trouble with OU which led to the Greek houses not being allowed to host parties there. Something like that done right would be a big draw for Greek House Date parties and students in general.

According to Google Maps the old Logan’s Roadhouse will become The Greene Turtle sports bar. There are no locations outside the Eastern US so I’m taking this with a grain of salt.

They were rumored to be entering the OKC market over a year ago.

I bet they have a local franchisee.

This must have something to do with their connection to Clark Crew.

An internet search indicates that Greene Turtle bought Clark Crew BBQ on Northwest Expressway in 2022.

EDIT: Here's an article from January indicating they're expanding into Oklahoma this year. https://www.bizjournals.com/baltimor...atch-2024.html

The old Blackbird space is now The Wagon (https://www.instagram.com/thewagonnorman/) country bar.

Also Rosa Mezcal is opening on Main Street. They had an ambitious plan to be done and opened within 40 days. (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61560042390697). They are owned by the same owners of Dulce Vida Tacos & Tequila in OKC.

I would love for there to be a Clark Crew in Norman. And a Mama Rojas? Perfection.
