Thread: Best Thai restaurant?

Although this place isn't specifically a Thai restaurant and isn't technically OKC they do have some amazing Thai dishes Zen Asian Dining Hilton HHonors® Dining - Zen Asian Dining - Reviews, Hours, Menu, Map - Edmond, Oklahoma 73013

I'm a little spoiled because OKC doesn't have a Thai restaurant like my first and favorite Thai restaurant. It's in Tulsa and called Bamboo Thai Bistro GoodDining - Bamboo Thai Bistro - Reviews, Hours, Menu, Map - Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135

Sweet Basil in Norman is my go to Thai place and Tana Thai when I'm up north. I've tried several in the central OKC metro area and none of them were bad but none stood above the other either. The Asian district Thai places are all good and have good value but lack atmosphere. If in Edmond area go to Zen. If you're in the central to norther metro area go to Tana Thai and if your south of I40 you might as well go to Norman. Panang is good but lacks atmosphere like the Asian district Thai places and will take just as long to get to as Norman unless you're on the SW side.

Not anymore. Panang has seriously gone down hill over the last 6 months. I wonder what happened?

Panang is the best in the okc metro, but sweet basil in Norman is the best in the greater area

Gonna have to disagree. Thai Kitchen, and it's not even close. Their lunch buffet is killer too, they'll even custom make things if you ask them (or go enough).

Sorry to hear. I ate there a couple of years ago and it was fab. I've
not been back but only because I don't eat out very often.

Has anyone tried the Thai restaurants in Bethany? There's one on NW
23rd and Glade and another on N. College and 39th. I like the one on
23rd. I haven't eaten at the one on N. College because of Papa Angelo's
Pizza. PA has incredible pizza and I can't resist it.

When I lived in Norman Sweet Basil was a weekly trip. Outstanding.

The east side finally has a decent Thai restaurant. Siam Noodles - 7016 SE 15th St Midwest City.

I've eaten there twice and both times it was really good. It's a bit different than most of the city's thai restaurants which I find really interesting. The first time there I asked if they had yam neua and the lady said its not on the menu but I can make it for you which she did and it was terrific. That's way cool.

If you like thai and find yourself out east then give it a try.

Have you been back? We still eat there, frequently, and haven't noticed a dive in quality.

There's a Thai restaurant in Bethany at NW 23rd and N Glade that's
very good. It's located in the NE corner of the Apple Glade shopping
    center.

There's also a very good Thai restaurant at SW 89th and S. Penn and on
the SE corner. I can't remember the name but it's next door to Cafe Bella.

Trivia, Cafe Bella is named after the owner's grand daughter.

    OY! It's Panang! Whaddya know!

Thai Tom Yum on 26th and Classes makes great food. The vegetables all taste to fresh I'm not a veggie lover or hater but the veggies at this place taste freshly picked. They have really good Curry too. They've been open at their current location for less than a year.

And the portions are GIGANTIC. A $10 takeout order feeds two people very well. They have become my go-to Thai.

The best Thai in Norman is Thai Delight, in the city is Thai Sayarm. Both these places know what Thai hot means, and Thai Delight also has some good sushi and very friendly staff.

I went to Lemongrass (edmond) recently and thought that took a dive. I like THai Delight in Norman, but Sweet Basil is the best in Norman. Best I've had in OKC was Charm, but Tana Thai is also good.

There used to be a place on North MacArthur just north of the expressway. it was in a run down strip center. If I recall, it was called Bangkok. Was excellent but hadn't gone in years so not sure if still open. (I avoid driving expway for sanity issues)
