From today's Oklahoman:

From yesterday; I believe they have one more level to go:
7 stories. Not bad.
Actually I think it is eight. If look closely, there is another layer of concrete slab on top of what appears to be the "top floor wall" in that photo. (just to left of the crane)
There are six floors now largely completed with one more to come.
The area on the roof like looks like a terrace isn't... It's purely ornamental:
I think 10 stories would have been even better. Perhaps they low-balled the estimates for usage/occupancy just to be on the safe side. A few years down the line, the owners might well be wishing it had more rooms/capacity.
It seems that there is an ongoing trend of 4 story apartments, and 6-8 story hotels in Bricktown/Deep Deuce. I think the trend is a good thing, as it brings identity to both areas, let's save larger housing and hospitality projects for the CBD.
Interesting - I walked into their office on 2nd St just to ask what would be for sale (thinking exactly along those lines that would there be condos for sale inside Aloft), but was told by the employee that the "for sale" sign on their office door applied to prospective bar/restaurant owners only.
Aloft may consider expanding it's presence in the OKC area, I know here in Austin there is one planned on the Northwest side of town the other Aloft which is already open is by The Domain in North Austin. Although a W Hotel may pop up in downtown OKC oneday.
Better than watching TV!
Cute pic, Sid. The little one -- poor thing, her backpack is as big as she is.
I drove by today and noticed they were putting--I don't want to say insulation--framing ? up on the west side of the building (top level). It was green. Sorry for no pic, I was driving westbound on 2nd St. and looking back over my shoulder.
It shouldn't be long before the framwork is complete and we should see walls. Most of the north side of the building has studs up. They're working on the top floor, but with the roof shape as is is, I'm not exactly sure how much will be on the top floor.
I was referring to people living in OKC if they have the necessary means of transportation available should be able to just look at Aloft with their own eyes rather than go back to post #605 (which is probably more convenient anyway and something I did not do cause I drove by yesterday). Nothing personal, yo :-)
Photo from yesterday...
Looks like they are working on the last floor:
That's one shell of a hotel!
