The eligibility/scholarship issue has been discussed a lot the last couple days on ESPN radio and the local radio stations. Not being an expert I’ll repeat what I’ve heard. There has long been a NCAA rule that if you are unable to play your sport because the school/conference cancels the program you are free to stay and wait until next season or transfer wherever without sitting out or losing eligibility. The scholarship seems to be up to the school you stay at or transfer to because of scholarship limits and it’s their money. There don’t seem to be any rules about sitting out when your team is playing. Probably no reason for such rules before so there aren’t any. But most everyone seems to think it’s being discussed by the NCAA.
and you have a lot of after the fact information being given to players too... San Jose State waited until after all of the players moved in to residence halls, to inform them that it was a voluntary move in, but since they were all there, they now had to stay there. It isn't voluntary if you don't tell them it is.
Berry Tramell had a piece on OU limiting ticket sales to 25% of stadium capacity. I think students should have priority in non sky box seating.
I don't think the demand for tickets is going to be that high.
I've been a season ticket holder for years and won't be renewing this year.
At 25% capacity, there's gonna be a lot of upset fans who won't get to see a lot of the games, no matter what you do. I would guess that they'd give out a mix between donor tickets and student tickets.
This may have been stated before but OU sent out a solicitation on whether season ticket holders intend to go to games or not. We informed them we were not due to COVID risks and the ticket office will use these intention questionnaires to determine how to allocate the 25%. If ticketholders opt out this year, they will not be penalized for next year.
Kennedy Brooks opted out of the season, that is going to hurt
It's definitely an * year.
I really wish Sooners would cancel the season, it can wait until next year
