I think someone asked somewhere if the Gregg Allman show would have seats, and yes, it's reserved seating (not going, just heard it from someone).

I know we are getting announcements of a few artists coming down the pike for Criterion, but I would like to get a comparison of what type/genres we can expect here vs Tower and Jones Assembly.

Incidentally - and I love Gregg Allman - but curious why you chose to ask people to support one of the most country-influenced artists currently booked at The Criterion if you hate country so much? Why not support Disclosure or Kirk Franklin?
Allman Brothers are blues inspired. Don't mind good classic country, it's the contemporary variety that sucks. And Red Dirk is everywhere, so worn.

Man, it sucks you are forced to go to these concerts. I would be upset too if I had to go to concerts where I didn't enjoy the music.

Glass Animals was announced today for 7/18/16. Another band that is headlining at Red Rocks.

you may think contemporary classic sucks, but a good number of people (and their $$$) in this city/state disagree with you. just a recent sampling of artists that have played/are booked at (and more than likely, sold well) chesapeake arena: brantley gilbert, luke bryan, jason aldean, shania twain, miranda lambert, eric church.

Do you know if it's him on his own or with a band?

Doesn't mean they are any good (holy **** I'm agreeing with Edgar, WTF is wrong here?)

"Good" is subjective though. I don't really appreciate those acts (except Eric Church) and would never go see them. However, enough people find them good enough to fill up an arena and spend their money in OKC. Good enough for me.

Dunno, sorry, not a fan of him solo, and neither is my brother (who's the one that told me about the seating), so neither of us are going, and hence, not knowing.

I grabbed a couple of tickets after doing a little research of reviews from recent concerts. Here's one review from Ticketmaster of a concert at Harrahs in N. Carolina last month...

    Gregg Allman in Cherokee
Harrah's Cherokee Resort Event Center - Cherokee, NC - Sat, Jan 9, 2016

Haven't seen Gregg Allman perform since I was at Burt Reynolds Studio in Jupiter Farms, FL back in 1994. When I found out her was performing at Harrah's Casino, I purchased my ticket as soon as they were available online.
Gregg's performance opened with Statesboro Blues. During the concert, Gregg switched between piano and guitar. The brass, drums, keyboard and lead guitarist where phenomenal and complimented well with Gregg's music style. Other songs they played: Soulshine, Queen of Hearts, Whipping Post, Floating Bridge, (my favorite) Melissa, I'm No Angel, Midnight Rider, as well as others. A tribute to Warren Hayes. Only song that he did not play that I was hoping for was Rambling Man, otherwise he played everything I wished for! After all these years, Gregg still has incredible talent and style. A concert to remember!

Favorite moment: When Gregg played Melissa

It's not the multi layered mega jams of an Allman Brothers show, Greg does have an excellent band of course.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it could be a good show, but I'm beginning to think I might have to actually start budgeting my live music money going forward. Used to be I just went to whatever I was remotely interested in and had the time. That's getting harder to do as these shows pile up.

Deftones will be hitting the road soon for a short run of March dates, but the band just announced a new batch of U.S. gigs booked for May.

I am an old guy and do not know many of these groups, but this new venue and the infusion of live music to OKC is simply FABULOUS and great to see
