    OkiePoke,
Interesting. I know Crest was that way years ago, but they changed. I just assumed it was code. Obviously not, I guess Crest changed theirs because of customer complaints.

I would be perfectly fine with separate entrances and exits. With the exit having no outside sensor. It seems nine times out of ten whenever I go to a Walmart, some moron wants to run me over with their cart when I'm walking in on the side that says entrance, and then when I leave someone brushes past me when I'm walking out the side that says exit and glares at me like I'M the asshole. Maybe it's because I don't go there that often that I only notice it there, but I really don't recall this being the experience ANYWHERE else.

I totally agree, you and I are a-holes. The signage is quite clear, one side is for entrance and the other for exit. I don't budge when driving my mobility scooter through the proper side even when people try to get through. And I suspect if other stores had the same type of entrance/exit doors, you would see the same problem.

I was at the store in Moore today. Bad news for us wanting a quick opening at the NW 39th street location. The employees are telling me it won't open until March. I am really ready for it to open. I love their Hawaiian ham, and their bagels are really good. We are going there like once a week. We still go to Crest for certain things, but really like Winco.

Wow. I would've thought they might open before Easter.

My guess is they are having trouble staffing this store.

They advertised the jobs at least a couple of months ago and the store is completely finished, yet I never see any cars there or signs of them stocking or training.

So drove by yesterday after work. They have carts and such by the doors and I've seen cars there on my way home. Maybe it's closer now? I can't see having carts out front if they're not getting close.

On a side note of carts, I've never seen this many cart return stalls in a parking lot. Also interesting how they are one way, double laned. Smart. Is this normal for them?

That's how the WinCo in Moore's cart returns are.

Was told in MWC Winco that the OKC Store at Portland and 39th is set to open on April 18th. Reportedly they have had problems with the general contractor and had to redo some of the construction.

    Can't wait!

However, there has not been any construction vehicles or really any activity there for quite a while. I suspect they are telling people that while the truth is they have been very slow to hire.

What's the traffic look like at the ones that have been open a while? From what i've seen, the MWC one looks to have slowed down a whole lot! Maybe its just the timing of day since i go pretty early on Saturday. I haven't been back because of the weird layout and the higher prices, but i'm sure others are still going.

The newness has worn off.... Hardly ever see the Moore parking lot more than about 1/3 full.

I was there about 8:30 AM on Sunday and there were maybe 8-10 cars there when I pulled in at that time.... Maybe 20-25 when I left.

    I'm happy to hear that!

I know the one near me at 39th & Portland will have that initial rush but I'm planning to make it my regular grocery store and don't want to fight seas of people.

I'm looking forward to the sales when the Portland store opens...... I'm now 50-50 between Crest and Winco for groceries and mainly because the Crest is closer to me. Winco has become my go to for BBQ meat though.... Can't usually beat their prices on Choice or higher briskets and I've been really happy with the pork butts I've cooked from there both quality and price wise..... Still prefer ground beef and steaks from Crest though.

I was pretty disappointed in Winco so i'm actually a bit nervous that they won't be around long and then we'll have all these big box stores left that were tailor made for industrial grocery. I'm mostly a shopper on price, and they just can't touch Aldi/Crest on the overall bill. I'm still spending an extra 20-30 a week if i went to Winco instead of Crest. But going between Aldi/Crest, i can save 30-40 over just going to Crest. Yeah it means two stores but for that much each week for a family of 5, its worth it.

I wouldn't worry about Winco; they do very well.

They wouldn't have closed on the Penn and Memorial property and started construction if they didn't have a lot of faith in the profitability of this market.

Yes, I drive by there most mornings on my way to work and there is since yesterday a semi trailer with a banner marking open in _ days in the parking lot. That blank space is currently a 7, which equates to April 18th.

I saw that this morning on the way to work, and happily pointed it out to my wife. She's looking forward to this location opening, since it's blocks from her office.

With this and the new Aldi, I'll have 2 great new grocery choices very close.
