Exceptions are already in place for eating, so allowing the removal of masks for communion would be in line with requirements. What other rituals do you think are impacted by this?

The only ritual that I can see there would be a problem would be a baptism with immersion. The person would simply remove their mask during this and then dry their face and replace. There is an exemption when wearing a mask is not practical. Same as with a dentist performing dental care. As someone stated earlier, churches are not exempt from fire and building codes. This is just another civil law they must follow. By the way the Archdiocese of Okc (which covers the western half of the state) has mandated masks must be worn while on church/diocesan property except while receiving communion. The parishes have been following social distancing guidelines since reopening.
Jesus first called them hypocrites, and then asked one of them to produce a Roman coin that would be suitable for paying Caesar's tax. One of them showed him a Roman coin, and he asked them whose head and inscription were on it. They answered, "Caesar's," and he responded: "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's".
Well, this is all very much a moot point now.
It’s obvious that Holt and Company are scared of Marty Green, Uncle Craig and the rest of the Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales jet set.
And I’d be scared too. Those Church Bros are perfectly comfortable spending big racks of Tithe Cash on top attorneys and appeal after appeal, even in the highest courts.
I'm bemused by the persons calling the citizens who follow the mask guidelines "sheep", as these are the same persons that were clamoring for herd immunity.
Talk about your mixed metaphors...
916 new cases today.
6 more people have died.
916 on a Saturday is the most cases for that day of the week thus far.
Last Saturday was the previous high at 687.
7 day rolling average is now 754.
Then you better hope this liberal pediatrician, who Michael Moore recently interviewed for a podcast isn't right. He thinks there needs to be another shutdown.
"Dr. Irwin Redlener is a nationally-renowned pediatrician, scholar, longtime advocate for children’s health and a top expert on disaster preparedness who directs the Pandemic Resource and Response Initiative at Columbia University’s Earth Institute. He has been serving the American public blunt truths about the coronavirus pandemic from the very beginning, and he shares some frightening new assessments about where we might soon land: One million new cases EVERY DAY — and 800,000 to 1.5 million of us DEAD by November if we don’t get our act together. He and Michael have an animated discussion about how Trump’s America screwed up the response to Covid-19, how Joe Biden could actually just start leading the real pandemic response we need NOW (and from his basement!) which would save tens of thousands of lives, and finally Dr. Redlener gets Michael to promise to personally call Vice President Biden and tell him what he just told his podcast audience. The call will be made."

Nope. Stitt says he now feels good and is at 100%. He didn't mention using Hydroxy. He also said he won't be issuing a statewide mask wear mandate, because it would be difficult to enforce and some counties in Oklahoma don't have positive cases. I'm not sure that is still currently true.
Went to both Big Truck and Coffee Slingers this morning.
100% mask compliance.
Funny how that works.

Same at Sam's Club.
My biggest (or easiest) argument is, if you don't like wearing a mask, or don't want to fine - I don't think anyone enjoys it. Even if you disagree with the science behind it, just wear it so you don't look like an asshole. Do you really want to be the person walking barefoot in WalMart? Rules are rules and sure most places probably won't escalate it too far for fear of a scene arising, but you still look like a jerk.
If there is one thing “2nd Amendment Audits” have taught me, it’s that people don’t give a crap about looking like assholes.
Just walked Quail Springs Mall, pretty busy and only saw five people without a mask on and everybody in the line at Blue Zoo, which was from the entrance to BZ back to the mall entrance had a mask on.
I went into a Best Buy, bancfirst, and an oncue this morning. (Oncue already had signs on their door)
I saw 99% mask compliance. It was the first time I felt like EVERYONE had masks on.
Shocking..
It's actually liberating...
Now that we know that almost everyone will be wearing a mask, I think most people will get out more.
Texas Roadhouse at Penn and Memorial already with a “Masks required upon entry” sign on the door.
Walmart Penn and Memorial: Guy in front of me tries to go in without a mask on, greeter or whoever says “you have to have a mask on” but let’s him go and says “I can’t break his leg to stop him”.
Talked to a manager and she says “All we can do is tell them what the city ordinance is. We can’t stop them from shopping”. I then asked what about Wal-Mart’s policy starting on Monday, her response “It will be the same thing”. Wow.
Also, a guy is walking around the store without his mask on and yelling “I am not a follower. If you make me wear a mask, I will sue you”.
Actually, yes, they can stop someone from shopping, pretty much as long as the reasons don't fall into a protected class and aren't covered by existing discrimination laws (sex, age, race, etc.). Private businesses can do that - no shirt, no shoes, no service, just add masks to that. Wal-mart HQ needs to educate store managers.
