Okay, I have to say this:
North Fork is NOT Applewood's by a new name. Different menu. They have new stuff, different owners. The only thing they really kept was the fritters and I think the fried chicken.
Flame away, anderson.
Still corrupting young minds
kmf- thanks for the info on the Taco Tico!!! That's a bit out of my way, but a combo burrito is worth the drive.
I don't work too far from 63rd and MacArthur... I'll have to make my way up to Godfathers too.
I miss the Full Moon Cafe. They had a great margarita chicken and a party atmosphere whenever there was a full moon. I hear Tulsa still has one.
there are no godfathers in oklahoma city anymore, except the one in the loves travelstop on 122 and i-35 where you can only get personal size pizza. it is a pizza inn at 50th and macarthur
Doc's...
Isn't there still a DQ in Chickasha?
I miss Big Ed's. I'm sure that my memory is rosy in regard to how good the burgers were, but since that's all I have to go on...I'll say that they were great and that I miss them the most.
/burger fanatic
there is a big eds at 122 and penn
The North Fork
the mantel in bricktown used to have my pi as well... it was a few years ago that i personally saw it there, so i'd check first. -M
I greatly enjoyed Godfather's in the early 80's in Tulsa, so much so GF is the only reason I moved there. When they started expanding to Houston is when the pin striped suit guy and I parted company. I learned I truly preferred small communities to big cities, and small communities were not even on their long term radar then, so to another state and a tiny town and a Mazzio's I did go.
My fav pizza these days is JJ's, a nice little shop in Norman.
There used to be a place on S Meridian called Subway deli & grill i believe. They had the best baked potatoes and sandwiches. I used to eat there every day, now its a Pearls
WestOaks,, what memories,,Kiddie burger & kiddie drink for 50 cents
Was that the place on 39th in Bethany that had the sign with the family stuffed into the old convertible?
does anyone remember the Royal Fork? I miss that place, but I think it's just because my grandfather used to take me there every Sunday.
How great would a Molly Murphys be in Bricktown? It would bring back that one of a kind place that Okc is missing.
Try Chicago's on SE 29th in MWC.................comparable to MY PI!
I guess the guy building the Taco Tico ran out of money and just stopped building...how does that happen?? So the new building that isn't finished is for sale on the corner of SW 44th and Council Rd. Has anyone heard anything about this or what's going to happen with it?
Actually the new owners of Applewoods kept the Applewoods name for some time. Still have apple fritters.Originally Posted by SweetNSourPoke
Really Applewoods was never the same after Stubbs sold it after he was forced out of the building down on Reno and Meridian.
