FWIW, Good Egg did expand outside OKC. Not sure what happened down on Campus Corner that made it not work out. They dang sure work fine anywhere else I have been.
Hoping that someday they might elect to come back this way.

Good Egg is likely to go to Tulsa soon as well.
Well, that's too bad. I only eat local, so I guess I'll have to bail on A Good Egg when they open in T-town. I don't do regional.
I think you're right regarding the large number causing some of the backlash, but in fairness HSRG also isn't known to be adventurous in the kitchen. Groups like A Good Egg tend to be much more cuisine-focused, and I think it's completely fair to prefer/avoid a place based on factors like menu, dining environment, etc.. I just think dismissing an OKC-based restaurant group that includes one-offs as "chain" while giving similarly structured groups a pass is not right.
I am thinking you missed an implied face palm.
I know I inferred one was there.
Hal owns joints that are even underground at this point. Employees told me Broadway 10 AND sidecar has a Hal finger in it. There's been mention of hatred for that group in this thread. I do harbor a bit for chains that invade every market like Luies and garage.
I'm hardly upset. I'm merely saying that there is a strong inequity and often a disconnect with reality when people start labeling places as "local" vs "chains".
And in fact even the terminology is wrong in that case. The two things are not even mutually exclusive. It's like the domestics vs imports thing with beer. Somehow Belgian-owned Budweiser is considered a domestic and craft brew from Fort Collins, Colorado is not. That's ****ed up.
I've heard that there is going to be a Pub W at SW 104th & May. Can anyone else confirm. I really hope my source is right on this one, I'm a big fan.
Good news, Pete. Although there hasn't seemed to be much progress on the actual building lately.
The sign is up on the new Pub W at SW 104th and May. They have a "Now Hiring" banner on display also.
Looks like it's nearly complete. Anyone know the opening date?
A sign in front says they're opening on the 21st...
