Wallace and Gromit is lighthearted entertainment. Dog lovers would like who it places as the protagonist.

JBrown84,
Capote, Capote, Capote! Nowhere on your list??? Have you seen it???????
Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance as Truman Capote is the only real slam-dunk everyone can agree on for an Oscar. They're arguing the second best!
You seem to be a fan of action films, for sure. BTW, I agree with you on The Interpreter, it was a great film and very sad that it was a box office bomb. Well worth renting for those of you who haven't seen it.
It was such a weird year for movies, especially with all the remakes. Two films are Oscar-worthy but are "out of sight, out of mind": Cinderella Man (another GREAT movie, but a box office flop) and Crash (JBrown's fave). Both released way too early in the year. Crash should have been a November release. May was too early for a film with Oscar written all over it.
I love movies and I especially love movies on the big screen. Great movies are made to be seen on giant screens with awesome sound - not on a small box. Though going by my DVD budget (too much) I must like them on the small box too.But really, for me, nothing compares to a night out for a nice dinner and then a great movie seen with an audience.
I haven't seen Capote. I missed it, but will try to catch it on DVD as soon as it's out.
I suppose I do like action films, but only smart ones like The Island, Blade Runner, Minority Report, etc. You won't find anything like Armageddon or Die Hard among my favorite films.
But take note I also have quite a few smaller dramas and indies like Heights, Crash, Prime, and Rent.

jbrown84, here is what you should ask Santa for - a movie card at AMC! I got one for $100 from a client that I sold some property for... I thought I died and gone to heaven... I was able to go to the movies forever without paying .. it was great. Here's a tip for Quail Springs Mall - refills on popcorn and soda with the purchase of a Large size .. ( You have to ask before you buy - they don't advertise it).

wow, from your list ive only seen emily rose, and i thought that was ok.
Exorcism of Emily Rose, I guess it really was okay but I went into expecting to be scared to death and I wasn't at all ... I think I was expecting more of a really suspensful scary movie and it felt more like an investigative report.. maybe I should revise my score because it wasn't horrible - just not what I was expecting. I normally don't like scary movies but I do appreciate a twisted thriller - I actually thought Saw was interesting but Seven gave me nightmares forever... Gothica and Stir of Echos, Sixth Sense and The Others all are scary movies that made me jump out of my seat - The Grudge had me screaming out loud the first time I saw it.
