    Yup, I have heard parking issue was a worry by current Brownstone holders in that the flats would only have single garages for each flat.

    Can someone please explain to me why streetside parking in residential areas is so frowned upon here? I just don't get it. People park in front of their homes in every dense city out there, but here the densest part of downtown, we have 2 hour limit parking signs everywhere.

    Time limits and permit parking in residential areas of dense cities is very common. Los Angeles even does this. This is just to ensure that residents and their guests have available parking and, in some cases, to keep non-residents from parking there for an extended period of time. I would not be surprised to see some of our neighborhoods start doing this, especially in the denser areas that have more owner-occupied housing. It will probably make sense to do this on the streets above and below 23rd as well as it fills up with retail.

    I think the brownstone residents are just trying to preserve the original vision for the neighborhood that they invested in as much as they can. It's an interesting situation because the developers of the brownstones wrote the building restrictions for the area and are now trying to undo that after agreeing to those restrictions with the buyers when they sold them their homes. There's a bit of a bait and switch going on.

    Short term parking usually ends at 6pm or 10pm. Most urban neighborhoods in most big cities rely on overnight street parking, and often there is a system for making sure residents can get a parking permit.

    I've been working on a permit system but haven't gotten anywhere so far. This is a new concept for OKC apparently.

    Disappointing that this project has been put on hold. Hopefully the parking issues will get worked out because I'm ready to buy.
