Thread: Braniff Building

There are a lot more people living downtown these days, and more coming. Hopefully it will get to the point that it's financially feasible for many of the downtown restaurants to be open at night. We are always looking for new dinner options downtown. I am excited about the prospect of breakfast, especially if there's a unique menu. Will it be open on the weekends?

Would be nice if they could find a nice operator for the Myriad Gardens restaurant.

All these, combined with the new SandRidge options, will make a big difference in the downtown dining scene.
Thought I read something on that in the Gazette or Oklahoman a week or so ago, sounded like they already had someone???

According to tuck in post 3429, the answer is yes.

In the video about the Braniff Building, the SandRidge spokesman said Kitchen no. 324 will be open in October and they will move their employees in sometime in the first quarter of next year.

That means work will have to start moving very quickly now. Really looking forward to watching that building shape up and come back to life.

The barber shop is one of "daily needs" amenities that will continue to build downtown as a traditional walkable neighborhood.

Hopefully - and I'm assuming so - it's an ol' timey barber. They seem to be making a comeback.

FYI - and sorry to be briefly off-topic - but anyone looking for a good old-fashioned barbering should proceed immediately to Jack Jenkins, whose chair is located in the Underground beneath BancFirst at Main and Broadway. He spent years in the 1930s-era barber shop on the 14th floor of 1st National and moved downstairs a few years ago. And yes, hot foam straight-razoring of your neckline is a part of his repertoire.

I didn't know Jack was back to cutting! I wonder if Petee is still over at Nichols Hills.

That does look sharp. Reminds me of the new Cafe7 in FNC.

The images were mistakenly posted to another public website before they should have been. Parts of them weren't accurate. We will release the correct images very soon. Thanks for understanding.

The repairs in the plaster work. Looks really great. In some places it has been cut away presumably for the kitchen of Tuck's new restaurant.

Seeing how much of this building was torn down and then restored to what you see above, I find myself ticked off that the other building were torn down.
