We went to McNellies. Had zero problem getting in. Got a table. Had great service, good beer, and their food is wonderful. No smoke. It was so nice. Of course the whineys had to whine the entire time. I'm so sick of hearing about your right to smoke! You can smoke until your lungs fall out, I don't care. But I shouldn't have to! I quit for a reason. And it's not to inhale your second hand crap and go home smelling like stank. Like I said earlier, there are a million places smokers can go. I'm ok with that. I would just like to add some places you can enjoy happy hour and not have to deal with it. I go to the smoking places with my friends who smoke, we should be able to go someplace and breathe once in a while.
I don't understand the whole not smoking law around food. But if you serve so much percent in liquor then you can smoke around it. How does that even make sense? What does it have to do with food? Or the amount of liquor intake the customers receive? I just don't get it. It either should be legal or it shouldn't. But hey, at least it's not acceptable like it is in other countries. Where you can still smoke in hospitals and offices. And kids can start smoking at 8 or 10. That is just ridiculous.
Have yet to hit Republic but McNellies is hard to beat for happy hour if you are willing to spend $30 - $40
Can't beat their Reuben, sweet potato fries washed down with a few Moose Drools on tap
smoke free bars is a workers rights issue .. not a "public" issue
