IF IT REALLY WAS THE OWNER, he sounds like a real cock-a-doodle-do.

    That's interesting. Why is that?

Why do I avoid bricktown? or why will I wait for more reviews?

Why do you avoid Bricktown so vehemently?

There isn't anything there appealing to me. I go for Thunder Games, movies, the ballpark, and special events. That's it. The parking is horrible, the food is mediocre at best and way overpriced. Clubs aren't my thing. So, not much for me to go for.

Can't agree that parking is an issue.
Food in BT is 50/50 for me. Some places are very tasty offerings and decent prices. Some places you couldn't get me back in if the grub was free. Nasty free food ain't no treat.
Not a clubber either, but I enjoy folk watching, and I could spend way waay more time down at the landrun monument than I do, especially IF THEY WOULD COMMIT TO FINISHING IT (hint to anyone in a position of authority to make this out of towner a tad more impressed with yer city)

Who said there isn't a commitment to finishing it? Last I heard, it was a little behind schedule, but still committed to. It's taking the artist a bit longer than planned to make the large castings.

I went to Rooster's last Sunday and thought the chicken and okra was decent. Chicken, fries, okra and some desserts are about the only food items on the menu. I know they are kind of copying Eischen's concept but they do not give onions, pickles, or white bread like Eischen's nor do they have any sandwiches on the menu. I wonder how the limited food items will affect business? I kind of agree with the lower class Hooter's comment since the waitresses wear tight tank top like shirts and seem to be well endowed. There are a lot of big screen televisions so it may be a good place to watch a sporting event. It is more of a bar type place than a family restaurant although some families will feel comfortable there while others wll not.

Last article I recall seeing mentioned a potential for dropping five or more pieces due to cost increases. What with the Centennial event come and gone, I readily concede this project not being finished concerns me.

Well, you go about as much as I do, then, and I wouldn't say I avoid it at all: Thudner games, Redhawks games, special events, and the movie theater. I rarely, rarely go just for eating. Can't blame you there...

    Parking's fine.

I should clarify the parking comment. For these occasions I am down there - the parking is great actually. I park fairly close, don't have to pay an arm and a leg to do so either.

What I meant was, a lot of people just go hang out in bricktown. Weekends, happy hour after work, or to eat. Parking is NOT fine for this. Why would I want to find a parking place blocks away, pay for it, and walk in Oklahoma weather to a restaurant or a place just to have a drink? There is a bar on every corner of this city. And plenty of better restaurants.

So no, I don't mind bricktown for specific events. But for everyday something to do...nope.

I went there for dinner tonight. Everything was really good, except too salty. The chicken was piping hot, and the french fries and fried okra were quite good too. I don't know how they can be told to dial down the salt, because if that were improved, it would be a great place to watch sports (BIG screen tv in a great location), eat chicken and drink beer. Everyone on the wait staff was very courteous. No complaints except for the salt.

Maybe the chicken is over salted for a resaon, like at theaters, salty popcorn = more cokes at Rooster's, salty chciken = more beer, more beer = more $$$$$

But sheesh, 58% approval isn't panned, even for a chicken haus.

Well, you have to know UrbanSpoon and look at all the restaurants that you like. You will notice that the 'good' ones are all above 80%. And never have I seen customers arguing with the owner/manager in the comments of a restaurant... never. Yet it happen(s) with Roosters.

Ok, I can see that point. But I also noted for that place a low number of overall votes, which can skew things rapidly in either direction.

Also, a quickie look shows a rather definite trend toward like, after what seemed a bit of where did my friends go stuff.

When more time permits, I'll cruise Urbanspoon to see how others in that tier rate.

I ate there a week ago. To make a really long story, very short, we ordered our chicken. We waited 45 minutes. They forgot about our order somehow. We finally got our food after an hour and 10 minutes.

The chicken was very, very good. Fries were good.

We were only charged for 4 draft beers, and we had probably 10 beers, crown and coke, and a whole chicken.

I will try it again, but it was a strange night.

I've been there for Monday Night Football for the past two weeks. It's pretty dead on Monday nights, which made it easy for us to get served. Our waitress was a little bit of an airhead and forgot to get my boyfriend a refill on his beer after we asked twice.

The chicken is a little salty, but still delicious and the okra is great, but a little greasy. They have lots of TV's and we watched MNF and the All-College Tourney at the same time.

What appeared to be the manager came and talked to us and said that they are planning on some live music in the near future and also told us about the change in management. I'm looking forward to what the change will bring to the joint. Anyways, I liked it and will go back.

Ate there for lunch yesterday. I thought the chicken was excellent. Great atmosphere. Chicken was hot....beer was cold. Just a tad on the pricey side but I'll definitely go back.

Went last night with my family. Thoughts:

    1. Chicken was merely OK-decent. Not seasoned all that well, and ours was a little overdone. However, the quality of the meat was fine and it was decent to eat. Eischen's, it ain't.

    2. The sides were awesome. Fries were good, okra was great (better than Eischen's, although as AmyLynn said, a little greasy), and the fried pickles were awesome. Not pickle slices, but actual spears cut into about 1/3rds and fried. Loved those.

    3. Atmosphere is good. It's like the inside of a Logan's Roadhouse, but a bar. Great TVs, the beer was cold, waitress was attentive. A fun place to drink a few beers.

    4. Price: I think it was $13/chicken, or $7/half chicken. Sides were $3/ea and a deal at that. I don't know what the beer was. We had 1.5 chickens, three sides to try them out, 3 draft beers and 2 bottles of beer and the tab after tax was around $47. Not too shabby with ordering too many sides, too much chicken, and 5 beers.

I'll definitely be back. It's a good place to watch sports when your favorite team isn't playing, if that makes sense.

7.5/10, and if the chicken weren't overcook, it would have been an 8/10.

I've been twice, first time experienced bad service and food, as always I gave this place a second try, resulted in more bad service and food. I hope they didn't lock in a long term lease, I see another vacant building in Bricktown in the near future.
