The mall building is actually in good shape. They just need to improve the overall appearance. It wouldn't make sense to tear down Crossroads. Macerich has maintained the infrastructure well. About $10 million or so and Crossroads could be back up and running.

Hello? Every big city has to have atleast one ghetto mall for every 5 or so normal malls. You can't shun the gang bangers, we can just lump them all into one mall, in a part of town not many venture into anyway. Yes, it is 3 miles from the states 3rd wealthiest zip code. But, I think there is some potential there for another mall, or town centre wild card.

If every major city must havea ghetto mall, then build ours at NE 23 and Bryant. It would blend in well.

    I previously said...

"the new owner will just get rid of this mall building and start from scratch. "

sorry, by that I meant if someone wanted to do something else with the land rather than a Mall.

It wouldn't make sense to tear down the entire mall and then build another mall.

IF Crossroads does invest about $10 million or so, as Patrick stated, how many of you feel that it would help out Crossroads drastically??

I don't. As I said, gang bangers are mall rats too.

I think it would. You have to remember something Midtowner brought up.....the area just south of Penn Square isn't that great. There are quite a few gangs in that area. But, the mall has been able to keep them out by the types of stores they offer, renovations, good security, etc.

Crossroads is the only mall on the South side, and just a few years ago, it used to be THE mall. That was before Macerich let it deteriorate. It probably has the most vehicle traffic of any mall.

Your probably right. As Moore grows (metro's fastest growing city) there will be more medium class people in the area and more traffic as well. It could be considered Crossroads of America, if it isn't the Downtown junction.

Well I hate say this but, I think we need an F-5 to strike southside have it start about lets say 82nd and Shields, move all the way down Shields, and stop somewhere around 47th street.

Either that or Urban Renewal just simply because that is the only way Crossroads will become a jewel again.

Oh and maybe a smaller Tornado that would spin off of this same storm and Turn Valley Brook into an open pasture.

Yes, trailor parks have been known for "mysteriously" attracting tornadoes. Just look at the path May 3rd's tornmado went. Straight through Del City.

I thought Moore was the worst hit suburb from the May 3rd tornado! Sort-of destroys your argument about trailer parks.

Actually, here is a trivia fact from "The Weather Channel." Moore, Oklahoma is the most frequent city hit by tornadoes in the world.

I actually grew up in Moore, on NW.7th st, and we had many tornado scares while we lived there. Nothing ever hit us during that time, however, the tornado that hit the northern part of Moore(around NW.12th) last year(I think)destroyed the house that I lived in growing up. I drove by there a couple of weeks ago, and they have rebuilt a new house there that looks totally different from the rest of the houses in the neighborhood.

I find it strange the tornados always follow the same path through Moore. Seems like they'd change course, hitting north parts of the city. I wonder if there is some scientific phenomenon to explain the pattern. Or, maybe it's just that God doesn't like the people in Moore! lol! Just joking!
