One of the community activists in Tulsa told me that the main reason the Skelly building is coming down is to provide parking for Tulsa World staff. Which explains why the paper was in favor of it, anyway.

There is a brand new multi level garage across the street, opened in November 04

Argh! Sounds like an excuse on the Tulsa World's part. It isn't like they're going to get that much surface parking out of the space. They would've been better adding on a fw levels to their parking garage, or building another parking garage.
