    I hope not.

The last thing OKC needs is yet another freeway through the middle of cow pastures.

In more recent versions of ODOTs long term plans it does not show up any more. Councilman Greenwell brought it up to ask on it's status and they said it did not have the political support to go forward.

That might be the understatement of the year.

Well, shoot! I was hoping it would be supported. It would surely spur development along the SW side of OKC, and also assist Mustang in growth, no?

I'm not sure why it would be in the city's interest to spur development in such a far flung location. And I must admit, I literally have never had a reason to travel SW of the airport, but is there such a demand to bypass the existing highways that it would justify the expense?

It still shows up on the 2020 plan maps...

I hope this goes no where, we dont anymore highways further expanding oklahoma city. We have an extremely low density and this would just make it worse.

OKC's density is calculated on the basis of the city limits. Building an additional road will have no effect on the city limits. To the extent it encourages development within the city limits (and it pretty clearly would), it would actually increase the overal density of the city.

Here's something I came up with, just a fantasy, though.

I would expect at least the southwest loop portion of that will eventually have to happen.

Your east and NE side rendering would never happen.

    A) A future outer loop would somehow tie in with the Turner Turnpike, most likely a new interchange somewhere around Jones/Luther where the current new exit east/enter west ramps are.

    B) There's no reason to have a four direction interchange where I-44 and I-35 currently meet over by Remington Park.

The rest of it looks great though! ;-)

I would expect if it did pass i35 on the east side going south would be more likely, creating a loop around Norman.

I really don't see any loop going between Norman and Moore in the future. I think that wagon has already crossed the prairie and headed on out.

The four direction interchange at I-44 and I-35 near Remington Park is intended to create an inner loop. But I know none of this will probably never happen, it was fun to draw though. :-)
