That's an awesome card man. I'm hoping to upgrade pretty soon, hoping the tax return will help in that department.

somewhat sarcasm. Finding a computer for a while during that time that could run it at top speed with no hiccups was very rare. I loaded it up on steam today and To this day it still looks impressive.

I was a part of few of those launches. Diablo 3 was so so bad.

BF4 launch still gives me a bad taste. although it has been running perfect for a long time now

I have seen launches that were much worse than D3 even though It clearly left a lot to be desired. Blizzards greatest sin was dumbing down the game for the masses.
Here is a link to some of the first screenshots from D3 which were eventually scrapped{sadly}because they hold true to the games original origins. Pretty nice shots and a nice write up on what might have been.

Here's a short write-up from a PAX South panel about that Sid Meier's Starships game.

Sid Meier's Starships is all about ship customization, tactical combat

There is a new free to play game on Steam called Nosgoth, and well it's not terrible. I downloaded it last night and played a few hours with friends, it's a little unbalanced right now but it's still in beta so hopefully they will get things worked out. Ton of fun with friends though.

Did anyone see the HORRENDOUS trailer for Roller Coaster Tycoon World? The graphics somehow look worse that RCT3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzgAhPffWsM

Luckily it looks like some other games are trying to fill this void. Parkitect

Damn, I was hoping EA was slowly redeeming itself while in comparision Ubisoft was crapping on gamers.
    Its turns out both suck.

EA redeem itself? Is that even possible?

The whole releasing Sims 4 unfinished to include basic features like a swimming pool for DLC content is just low.

Not a big fan of that either.

Doesn't look bad though. I'll probably end up buying it and playing with it for a couple weeks.

Considering it is still in Alpha, it's not half bad. Reminds me of RCT 2 before they went all crazy for 3.

Anyone interested in a city builder/sim should check out Cities: Skylines.
    Cities: Skylines on Steam

Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience.

From the makers of the Cities in Motion franchise, the game boasts a fully realized transport system. It also includes the ability to mod the game to suit your play style as a fine counter balance to the layered and challenging simulation. You’re only limited by your imagination, so take control and reach for the sky!

Main features: ◾Multi-tiered and challenging simulation: Constructing your city from the ground up is easy to learn, but hard to master. Playing as the mayor of your city you’ll be faced with balancing essential requirements such as education, water electricity, police, fire fighting, healthcare and much more along with your citys real economy system. Citizens within your city react fluidly, with gravitas and with an air of authenticity to a multitude of game play scenarios.

◾Extensive local traffic simulation: Colossal Orders extensive experience developing the Cities in Motion series is fully utilized in a fully fleshed out and well-crafted transport systems.

◾Districts and Policies: Be more than just an administrator from city hall. Designating parts of your city as a district results in the application of policies which results in you rising to the status of Mayor for your own city.

◾Extensive modding support: Build or improve on existing maps and structures. You can then import them into the game, share them as well as download the creations of other city builders on the Steam workshop

Some of the mods in the steam workshop look awesome. You can create terrain/map of anything, then build on it as you like. Would be nice to see a OKC mod!

I'm enjoying it so far. The street/road building feature needs some work to be on the same level as Cities in Motion, but they'll get there. Definitely blows SimCity 5 away.

Yep, I've put almost 10 hours in a couple days into the game. After being incredibly let down by the last SimCity this is rubbing me the right way in so many ways. Also it helps that Paradox who is publishing the game is infamous for their support of games, so I'm looking forward to years of updates to the game.

Paradox is notorious for having hordes of DLC{see Europa Universalis 4, CK2}and if it is quality DLC and adds something to the game I have no problems. Cash grab DLC I hate.
