I can understand the enthusiasm, I get psyched up for storms as well and don't always remember the consequences of the bad ones.

Starting to look that way. I'll wait for the weekend before I start talking it up. LOL

Also a couple things. The chat room will be restarted over the weekend. So I'll be wrapping it up here soon.

Lastly, please understand that these threads are a gentle mix of weather enthusiasts and also those coming for information. Personally, I'm all for major winter storms. However, I do understand that there is a human impact element to it. I would like to ask both sides to just ease back a little bit. Yes some get a bit more anxious than others, it happens. What I ask that we avoid is the directed attacks at specific people. I know it is easy to get aggressive with people on a message board, I've been known to have my faults with it too. LOL Just take a deep breath and relax though. There isn't any need for the hostility we see in other sections of this forum to spill over here. :-)

What's the forecast for tomorrow? I am planning on getting on a plane tomorrow, some seats are open, as long as nothing cancels or gets delayed I'll be good. About a 2PM departure... I hear there is some snow tomorrow?

Nothing to worry about. Flurry or some light snow.

Looks like some additional snow for Sunday. GFS and NAM are totally split tonight. NAM is dry as a whistle and GFS has 2 to 4 inches of new snow. Both have been pretty consistent.

The system dumped a lot of snow in Texas overnight and the storm expanded (back-build) toward south central and these heavier snowfall is moving northern. Reports of snow in Norman...Moore...the metro. We could see up to 2" today. That is one thing are impossible to predict when a storm has a mind of its own. Anything can happen in an instant.

You mean, "you" hope to see 2" today. What meteorology classes have you taken. I haven't taken any. I don't hope to see 2" today. When a thunderstorm comes through and it happens maybe on a future date that I'm getting married, I'll HOPE it rains an inch or more so I can get my wedding rings for free. So have you taken any meteorology classes Thunder?

WTF? What a knob. The KWTV.com site clearly shows that South OKC could get 1-2" of snow today and he was simply reporting a factual statement (that we COULD see up to 2" today). Do their meteorologists meet up to your educational standards?

Personally, its Friday and I'd love to see a little more of the white stuff (regardless of what the whiners think).

Really pretty snow today. Nice and light, just freshing up things a bit. Also helping to cover up the areas of he ground where grass started to come through.

ARGH! I love snow but I'm somewhat angry at it right now! I had to make the trek from NE Norman to near campus to pay for rent (four days late). On my way back I spun out and slammed into a curb. I nearly took out the street post and fire hydrant in the process. All of this due to the fresh snow. The result: a cracked bumper.

The bumper can be fixed and nobody was hurt so that's good.

Yeah, you're right. It could be worse. It was just a minor annoyance. Bleh. It is pretty to look at though!

I didn't see any accumulation on the NW side of town, just a little dust on the driveway and I'm pretty darn happy about that.

If anyone wants to come haul off some of the hip-high drifts of snow from my front yard, they are welcome to it!

Glad you're ok. Two places in Norman area you might consider for repairs are Fischer's on Highland parkway off N Flood and Full Circle Auto, south of Goldsby at the NW corner of where HWY 74 and Ladd RD intersect. I've used both in the past and very happy with both.
