Please no. This would be a huge step down. I'd much rather see an S&B burgers or The Garage go in this location.

Why? There is S&B about 5 blocks from here at 9th and Broadway, and Garage not much further at 11th and Robinson. I actually like the idea of BWW here.

Because their food sucks. Other than that no reason.

I think Republic or Pub W would both work here, all of their current locations are in the burbs so it would be something new for the city center.

    That's a great idea.

While I don't entirely disagree, having a nationally recognized chain restaurant across from one of the 'nicer' hotels in the downtown area wouldn't be such a bad thing. Torchy's would be better, just cause Torchy's is better.

BWW national put the kibosh on a proposed Bricktown location so I don't think the demographics will support anything downtown.

That's odd. I would think a BWW somewhere in Bricktown would kill it.

Classen Curve, Chisholm Creek, Memorial Rd., S 100th/May are *not* the burbs. Memorial Rd and S 100th/May may feel like it, but they're not. Norman, however, is a true burb.

Not sure your definition of suburban is correct.

I will be let down by anything other than a Torchys or a Neighborhood Jam.

I've heard about Neighborhood Jam from co-workers and family, and about Torchy's from family. Haven't been to either, though, they're in the burbs and I'm in the core.

If this site managed to generate the kind of traffic neighborhood jam gets, Pete should seriously consider adding a resuscitation service for ads and list restaurants this site has saved.

That’s not a complete re-telling of what happened. BWW has territory agreements with franchisees and the (local) guy who has the territory which overlays Bricktown isn’t interested. The guy who has other BWW locations in OKC is VERY interested, but the first guy had obstructed his attempts to go into Bricktown in the past. Pretty much none of it has to do with BWW corporate, other than that they originally franchised to a guy who had no interest in BT.

Thanks for the clarification, Urbanized. Would there be an opportunity for the two franchisees to work a deal and open one in Bricktown?

I think there may be a way forward for them, but I don’t know how much interest remains.

I had a high school friend from urban NJ describe May and ~NW 44th as "rural" when she visited, so clearly there's a range of viewpoints on the matter.

Would WINGSTOP be an acceptable alternative?

I second Torchies, it would destroy many wastlines and wallets at that location. It’s the perfect restaurant to draw people to that location. I think their later hours probably make it a better fit than neighborhood jam but either could work.

Hell yes! IMO, lol. I love WingStop!

After texting with Pete offline, I want to make a note following my previous post regarding with BWW. I can’t say for sure that BWW corporate didn’t discourage the specific location being considered several years ago (in fairness I don’t remember if this was relayed to me), but based on the conversations I’ve had I don’t believe they were opposed to Bricktown in particular, nor would they be now. There 100% WAS an issue with territories. I think that itself is also not an issue at this point, but not sure how much interest still exists on the part of either franchisee.

The point I’m trying to make is that BWW corporate is not to blame for keeping a location from entering Bricktown, and I felt that was the impression being left by Pete’s post.
