Count me as 1 of the 10,502 today. First time getting it. Just sinus infection-like right now. No fever.

Edmond closing schools for Friday due to staffing issues. I believe that leaves only...Bethany? as the only school district in the metro that's still open tomorrow?

I actually think we will be hitting peak soon based on those numbers. Maybe a few more weeks and we will be back down to "normalish" numbers. Buckle up folks.

I think that's possible. I just looked at graphs on Reuters. A hand full of states look like they might have peaked and are headed down. Also fits the timeline of the UK and South Africa.

Absolutely insane numbers, especially when you consider we're capturing only 1/4-1/3 of all cases.

    I'm very worried about hospitals.

We are very near the all-time hospitalization numbers and lots of healthcare staff is out with illness, just like teachers and everywhere else.

This would be a very bad time to get sick and is going to drive many people away from working in healthcare in the longer term.

I really wish our health department would do more to alert people just how infectious this virus is. Believe in the science or not it might just push some people to take it more seriously if there were disclaimers on the health department’s website letting people know the official numbers are actually conservative.

Fiance started her new job in southern Oklahoma this week and her first call was an elderly man at Winstar complaining of shortness of breath..... He had tested positive for Covid 3 days earlier.

Couldn't hurt. But I doubt that the people that need convincing ever see the OSDH website.

I am to assume that 11,315 are counting both PCR and Rapid Test?

I posted about my friend, a Moore teacher at risk of severe infection, having contracted it as a result of her in-person instructional duties. I will avoid mentioning my opinion about how her district is handling this in the future.

It also should be stated that taking precautions to prevent mass infection of one of the most infectious diseases ever known should not be viewed as a partisan political issue.

Geez, so the guy knew he was positive and decided to go to the world's largest casino?

That is part of the larger problem. Anybody who tested positive 3 days ago shouldn't be out and about like that.

Four Oklahoma health systems resumed reporting their own bed capacity figures today, saying the omicron variant of COVID-19 has created "a dire situation" for health care providers.

Here are today's numbers. Zero open ICU beds at all four.

Well I avoided it for two years and both me and my kids are fully vaccinated but this morning both my kids and I tested positive our symptoms are mild thank goodness. I can not get over how quickly this variant is spreading. Please everyone be safe out there.

With Omicron I wonder if there is a such thing as safe unless you live alone in a bubble. I'm agreeing with Dr Fauci that "Pretty much everyone will get Omicron". I just hope its fast and over soon. Which seems to he the case in places that got hit first.
